The Monthly Cost of Your Membership Site (and Why You Need To Do It This Way) Let's be honest: no one wants to fork over tons of money every single month for a membership site. If you DO have a membership site, you should already know that your members are extremely conscious about how much they're paying each month to stay a member. That's why the average attrition rate for membership sites is so low (only 3-4 months, on average). With the cost being such a big problem, how do you overcome it? Heck, just lower the cost! Or, to say it another way: Set the monthly cost so low they'll "forget about it�. What's up with that? Why would you make your membership cost LOW? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Not at all. In fact, it will help your cause more than anything. From a psychological aspect, anything priced under $30 is considered a "nuisance" to cancel or otherwise deal with. That's not to say your members won't cancel or anything, but it makes them more inclined to stay on board. So let's say your monthly cost is $10. That's super low, I know, but think about it this way... Even if your target customer/member isn't getting what they want completely out of their membership, it's only $10, so they'll probably be inclined to stay just because that amount of money is so insignificant. Trust me, I've paid $5 for a membership site before and stayed a member of it for over a year, just because the cost to stay a member was so incredibly low. It was a "forgettable price". That's what you need to do with your own membership. Remember, the average attrition rate is 3-4 months for the average member, so you need to find ways to keep them on board even
longer. Price is a huge thing, especially when they know they're going to be forking it over every single month, so make sure they can easily "forget" about the price and stay a member.
