PSYCHOLOGY: DEFINING THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS IN EDUCATION

The term therapeutic intervention is used to describe a range of practices or actions designed to improve personal wellbeing on a social, emotional or psychological level. A variety of therapeutic interventions can be used within educational environments to assist children with special educational needs to develop a variety of life skills.

Occupational Therapy Occupational therapy can be used to help children in schools deal with a variety of occupations throughout their daily life. This may range from therapies designed to help children practice self-care, such as learning how to use the toilet or get ready to go out, to productive activities such as attending school or volunteering, right through to play and pleasure-based activities such as doing hobbies or playing with friends.
