Sometimes it doesn’t take much to escape everyday life for a moment. By the way, we were on the road early in the year: our Epic Ride from Bangkok to Koh Chang was the perfect start to the season! An unforgettable trip that enriched us with many new impressions and memories. You can find the full report on page 94 – and lots of pictures that are sure to send you off on your own journey.

And of course we are really looking forward to the Open Day on Saturday, May 31st in Landsberg! It will be another unforgettable day where we can exchange ideas with our Vespa fans. If you want to make a long weekend out of it: The legendary Vespa Corso in Munich will take place on the Thursday before (Ascension Day) – two highlights in just three days! Perfect for all those who long for a concentrated load of Vespa spirit.

April is really early in the year for the SIP team to embark on the joint trip, the SIP tour.

After all, it’s twice as much fun to explore new landscapes and destinations on a Vespa when the sun is shining and it’s warm in summer. in 2024, we still decided to set off earlier than usual because a very special event was beckoning: the “Scooter Rally Toscano” on the island of Elba. This rally didn’t start until 3 May, but we wanted to take the opportunity to ride through Tuscany for a few days before the scooter meeting.

THE SIP TOUR IN SPRING 2024: ON CLASSIC SCOOTERS THROUGH TUSCANY AND ACROSS ELBA The tour started on 29 April. As there was still snow in the Alps at that time, we decided to start the tour in Italy, in Florence to be precise.

This year we were: Alex, Ralf, André, Basti, Salve, Luigi, Haasi and me. After a quick breakfast and an unfortunately somewhat too short tour of the city, we set off in the direction of Siena.

However, a fault thwarted our schedule and we unfortunately had to leave Florence far too quickly to arrive in Siena on time.

Friday 3 May and Saturday 4 May were the days on which the long-missed scooter rally finally took place again. Thirteen years had passed since the last “Scooter Rally Toscano” on the Isola d’Elba. The event organised by the Green Onions from Siena had been very popular and always very international. The number of visitors quickly showed just how much this event was missed. It felt like the whole island was made up of classic scooters, with Vespa and Lambretta in almost equal measure. We used Friday for an extensive tour of the island.

TRAVELLING THROUGH VINEYARDS AND HILLY LANDSCAPES ON A VESPA Saturday was a busy day at the Beach Bar, where the meeting took place. Dealer mile, custom show, DJs and, of course, a short ride across the eastern part of the island including an aperitif. Visitors came to the island from over ten different countries. The international flair alone was worth the trip. In the evening there were concerts and niter at its best.

On Sunday we travelled back to Florence.

After the eventful days and, above all, short nights, with a pinch of hangover mood.

On the return journey, however, we were able to drive through the picture-book landscapes of Tuscany in the sunshine. Past vineyards, rolling hills and towns such as Volterra and San Gimignano. The longest and most beautiful stage of our journey. Our destination was

an agriturismo in the hills outside Florence.

Our 2024 tour ended there with a final dinner together. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t always play along this year as we had hoped and planned. But the experiences, landscapes, the event on Elba and the new acquaintances were once again worth every kilometre.

What an experience that was! The best day of the year - the Open Day at SIP Scootershop and the 30th anniversary. And once again we were outrageously lucky with the weather, because during the week the temperatures here were still autumnal. But not only we, but also around 3,000 guests, friends, dealers and families deserved the warming rays of sunshine and enjoyed them to the full.

FESTIVAL OF 30 YEARS PERFORMANCE & STYLE Vespas and Lambrettas from many corners of the country (and beyond) kept rattling onto our site, and the valet parking attendants had their hands full. At some point, the entire surrounding streets were filled with scooters a marvellous sight and almost certainly a new attendance record for a SIP Open Day. The stunt show by Italian acrobatics legend Nicola L’impennatore was also all about body control, which thrilled and amused the packed audience. CUSTOM VESPA AND FINE BEATS During the day, DJ Jan Otto and Roberto Patrik Klegazz provided the perfect Open Day soundtrack, which only had to be silenced briefly when a true beauty saw the light of day at lunchtime. CEOs Alex and Ralf, together with builders Christoph and Basti and painter Marcus Pfeil, presented our brand new custom scooter “Tribute”. Packed with high-end and carbon parts as well as an eye-catching paint job by Pfeil Design and an Engine tuned to almost 300 cc. A worthy scooter for the 30th anniversary of SIP Scootershop. Mascha and her team guided large and small groups through the SIP headquarters to give them a glimpse behind the scenes. In the flagship store, people were given advice and tried on scooters, and the used parts outside at the stand passed through many hands. And while the kids made the bouncy castle shake, the grimaces of

the guests made the photographers on the photowall laugh. It was a colourful hustle and bustle everywhere.

In the evening, we changed venues. At Waitzingers Biergarten and Moritz Club we partied, danced and gossiped until the early hours of the morning. The atmosphere was great, the music was stylishly selected by DJ Harry and DJ Schmidl from Ried in Austria and the dance floor was never empty. The successful conclusion to a great open day and anniversary. Ralf summarises: “What an open day for our milestone birthday! And in the end, it’s all about the people and the scooters, that’s what we do it for.”

There has probably never been a more comprehensive test of these modern scooters.

Jesco and Nico compare the Vespa GTS 300, Lambretta X300, Lambretta G350 and the Royal Alloy TG 300, but this time they don’t just check the horsepower and cubic capacity, they get down to the nitty gritty.

The scooters are put on the test bench and have to prove themselves on the test track.

Our experts assess eight categories: Engine, Chassis, Chassis/Brakes, E-Technology, Quality, Dealer/Parts/Placement Parts, Lifestyle/Fashion/X-Factor and Price.

In this video, the Lambretta X300, Lambretta G350 and the Royal Alloy TG 300 were pitted against each other. Finally, in another Tester, we pit the winner of this comparison against the Vespa GTS 300 to decide the overall winner. The professional impressions of our experts are summarised in a points system and evaluated in around 30 aspects.

Finally, a table clearly shows the strengths and weaknesses of the individual scooters.

It is in the nature of such tests that Nico and Jesco do not always agree.

CATEGORY 1: ENGINE Firstly, Jesco and Nico look at the heart of the scooters and discover many interesting facts. While the Royal Alloy’s Engine is pretty much a Piaggio licence build of the GTS Quasar engine, this remains unclear for the new Lambretta X300. The Lambretta G350, on the other hand, is powered by a SYM engine with exactly 330 cc. Interestingly, manufacturers like to generously round up the cubic capacity figures: The Royal Alloy TG 300 actually only

These details can be decisive when it comes to comfort and suitability for everyday use.

Update Vespa GTS 300: There is a lot of plastic on both scooters and the Vespa has a decent unladen weight of 160 kg, but the X300 weighs as much as 174 kg without man and mouse. Other astonishing facts come to light, for example, neither scooter can carry a “reasonable” Helmet under the Seat. Ultimately, our experts come to the conclusion that the GTS 300 is clearly ahead.

Winner Chassis: Vespa GTS 300 CATEGORY 3: CHASSIS/BRAKES It’s back on the road, and the three scooters take a short tour through picturesque Upper Bavaria - uphill, downhill and through nume-

rous bends. Now it becomes clear how much riding pleasure each of the scooters provides on longer excursions. This is where the two Lambrettas clearly set themselves apart, as they offer noticeably more riding comfort than the Royal Alloy. We return to the test track for the various brake tests with ABS. Despite its lower weight, the Royal Alloy shows weaknesses here. Finally, the two experts scrutinise the chassis and equipment of all three scooters once again and also uncover hidden defects.

Update Vespa GTS 300: Even though there is not much to criticise about the GTS 300 in this category, it is still narrowly beaten by the G350. The “warhorse“ from Lambretta impressed with its high riding comfort and solid braking performance.

Winner E-technology: Vespa GTS 300 CATEGORY 5: QUALITY When it comes to quality, Nico and Jesco agree: the Royal Alloy is only moderately convincing. Terms such as “China scooter”, “cheap” and “poorly made” are used in this context. The feel of the Lambrettas left Jesco with a “surprisingly good” impression, while Nico simply described the look of the Royal Alloy as “terrible”. Overall, many details of the Lambrettas seem more “functional” than “high quality”, but both Testers were far more impressed by them than the Royal Alloy, which clearly falls behind in this category.

CATEGORY 4: E-TECHNOLOGY It’s all about the lighting system, Indicators, Rear Lights and the Display - the devil is in the detail here. Jesco and Nico can’t pick a clear winner in this category, but they can pick a loser: the Royal Alloy. Update Vespa GTS 300: Actually a close run thing too, Lambretta

Vespa GTS 300 update: Nico has a dark feeling that the GTS 300 is also equipped with many parts that are produced in the Far East. And Jesco also discovers “hidden cost-cutting measures”. And who can say how the scooters will cope with the ravages of time gnawing away at them? We don’t know. In short: Neit-

Winner Quality: Lambretta X300 & Vespa GTS 300 CATEGORY 6: DEALERS/PARTS/REPLACEMENT PARTS The Royal Alloy is naturally ahead in the dealer category, as it has been on the market for some time. Lambretta is only just building up a dealer network and still has some catching up to do. Supposedly, Lambretta already has all the spare parts in stock, but they still have to find their way onto the market.

The Royal Alloy is also ahead in terms of Replacement Parts, as a wide range is already available, especially in England. Vespa GTS 300 update: Well, this topic has been discussed extensively and there are no new findings. Of course, the new X300 has no chance in this category against the GTS 300, its dense dealer network and kilometrelong shelves of spare parts and accessories.

There can only be one winner.

CATEGORY 7: LIFESTYLE/ FASHION/X-FACTOR When it comes to these soft factors, our two experts get emotional and opinions differ. A picture is worth a thousand words - it’s best to watch Nico and Jesco’s comments in the video.

The discussion becomes lively at the latest when Jesco shoves “one of the most beautiful two-wheelers ever built” into the picture. While Jesco has favourable words for the G350 and X300, he has little to say about the Royal Alloy.

Nico tries to remain diplomatic, but has a hard time against the Lambretta fanboy. After all, there’s no accounting for taste.

Vespa GTS 300 update: Even though the two gentlemen praise the X300 and see many a highlight, the Lambretta can’t compete with the tradition and image of the Vespa. The GTS is the clear winner here.

The custom scooters that have been created at SIP Scootershop in recent years have won prizes, set records and made a name for themselves in the scene. For example the classic Vespa Rally “Street Custom”, the crazy 90 hp racing machine BFA “Something Special” or the old lady Vespa VM2 125 “1953”. As the 30th anniversary of the company approached, we immediately felt like starting a custom project in-house again.

he first meetings were organised and lots of different ideas were floated around the room. SIP co-founder Alex explains: “We are inspired by scooters all over the world and see what is being built there. We have summarised all these impressions in this custom project and want to give something back and show what is possible in other scenes.”

Co-founder Ralf adds: “Our inspiration was the Asians, because they build scooters that really impress us.”

WORLD PREMIERE The big moment came on 18 May 2024 in bright sunshine. The “TRIBUTE” custom scooter was presented to an enthusiastic audience and everyone was left in awe. Alex and Ralf had also finally found a name: “With the term ‘Tribute’, we are creating a tribute to the global scooter scene. And because SIP stands for ‘Performance & Style’, we immortalised it on the scooter in many languages and fonts.”

“It was just great to see how enthusiastically people reacted to the custom,” concludes Ralf, “but our great respect goes to Christoph and Basti, who realised the project perfectly. Thank you to you!”

n October 2024, the publisher of the trade magazine WORLD OF BIKE, Klaus Hüttinger, visited us and wrote this report about us: 30 YEARS OF VESPA PASSION: THE SUCCESS STORY OF SIP SCOOTERSHOP 30 years ago, in a small garage in Bavaria, a journey began that would have a lasting impact on the world of Vespa enthusiasts. Alexander Barth and Ralf Jodl turned their passion for Vespa into a company that is internationally recognised today: SIP Scootershop. With innovation, quality and a deep understanding of the community, the former tuning workshop has developed into a global market leader in the scooter aftermarket.

THE BEGINNING: PASSION BECOMES A VISION The idea for the SIP Scootershop was born out of a passion for Vespas. Alexander and Ralf spent their free time tinkering, meeting and riding. Their first products - such as Sport Seats made of fibreglass and Intake Manifolds for large carburettor conversions - quickly found favour in the scene. But the early days were not easy. No problem, it’s all there. The “Scooter Rally Toscano” on the Italian island of Elba was legendary for its location, visitors and atmosphere.

However, fans of this event had to wait 13 years for a sequel. But at the beginning of May 2024, the time had finally come: the Green Onions Scooter Club, with the help of Scooterismo. it, once again enveloped the holiday island off the coast of Tuscany in a beguiling two-stroke scent. Lambretta and Vespa riders from all over Europe rolled off the ferries and headed for Morcone Bay, a small beach on the south side of the island with an adjoining campsite, beach bar, palm trees, deckchairs and plenty of space for scooters and exhibitors.

SEPTEMBER For many years, we have supported the ARCHE Landsberg residential community. The aim of the ARCHE is to create communities that accommodate people with intellectual disabilities. Non-disabled and mentally disabled people live together in one house and organise their everyday life together. Each member of

the house community has their own room.

Cooking and eating is done together, and housekeeping is also a joint endeavour. There has been an Arche Haus in Landsberg with twelve residents since 2001. For our Open Day in May, we invited visitors to get a free SIP tattoo, and we donated €200 for each tattoo.

On 8 February 2025, an inclusive charity football tournament for AH teams took place for the tenth time in the Hurlach sports and culture hall. Many teams took part once again, including a team from SIP Scootershop. This was a highlight, as they were looking forward to both playing football and seeing each other again. The proceeds of around 4,500 euros will go to the Friends’ Association and will be used for an amplification system in the “Culture in the Greenhouse” project. SIP Scootershop supported the tournament with €250.

We would like to donate a portion of our earnings to charitable causes. The images of the flood disaster in East Germany in 2002 and in Asia in 2005 moved us all deeply, which is why we spontaneously decided to make a donation.

n 20 March 2022, the Russian army attacked the ‘Retroville’ shopping centre in Kiev, Ukraine, with rockets and almost completely destroyed it. Eight people died and many were injured. Our customer Alex was there on his Vespa and was unharmed.

The shopping centre was rebuilt within a few months and is now open again. It became a powerful symbol of the Ukrainian struggle for freedom and the resilience of Ukrainian civil society against the Russian war of aggression.

HOW CAN YOU RECOGNISE A VESPA LARGEFRAME AND WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES? Engine concept is changed With the introduction of the Largeframe models, the engine concept was changed. Whereas in the Wideframe series the swingarm and engine were bolted together separately, in the Largeframe both parts were now manufactured in one casting. This made the engine block not only more stable, but also significantly slimmer.

Thanks to these technical changes, there was now also more space for the cylinder, which in turn had a positive side effect for the carburettor, which now found space above the cylinder.

The carburettor flap, which still sat prominently in the tunnel area on the Wideframe, thus became obsolete. Piaggio’s engineers also worked on other technical details: for example, the control of the kick starter was simplified, which was still relatively complicated and susceptible in the Wideframe series.

Design becomes slimmer But not only the inner life of the model series changed, Piaggio also revised the outer concept of the Vespa with the introduction of the Largeframe models. There was no longer a single cast frame, but a left and a right press mould, which were then manufactured in one piece.

However, this was discarded a short time later - and only reintroduced some 20 years later.

The revised engine design also eliminated the cut-out on the right-hand side cowl, in addition to the aforementioned carburettor flap. All these changes had the effect of making the vehicle lighter, stiffer and overall slimmer, which can also be seen in the more compact cheeks and the narrower leg shield.

The most important large-frame models The success of the large-frame models, which began their triumphal march in 1957/58 with the Vespa 125 VNA and were produced with the Vespa PX model up to and including 2016, continues to this day. But during this long period of time, there were of course numerous smaller and larger modifications and thus also a relatively large variety of models. We present the most important models and modifications in this article.

VESPA LARGEFRAME MODEL RANGE The VNA model series The VNA was the first largeframe model and, as already mentioned, came onto the market in 1957/1958. Many details that the VNA series had at the beginning were discarded, changed or completely redesigned in the course of time. This is hardly surprising. After all, many components of the VNA still originated from the

Wideframe series. These include the one-piece mudguard, the relatively wide leg shield, the Vespa lettering and the lamp, which with its 105 mm diameter was taken over from the “Struzzo”. The VNA’s basic equipment also still included kick strips in the tunnel area as well as the swinging saddle and luggage rack. But there were other details that were different on the first Largeframe than on the successor models.

Firstly, the engine still had a piston-controlled intake. This was later controlled by a rotary valve - special models excepted. Secondly, the VNA already had a split handlebar, which was extremely advanced for the time. But this was discarded with the second generation and only reintroduced decades later.

The VBB model series With the second largeframe model, the VBB, not only the frame but also the mudguard was now made from two parts. In addition, the headlight was enlarged to 115 millimetres in diameter. As already described, the cast handlebar was now again made from only one piece, as had already been the case with the GS150, the last sport model in the Wideframe series. Another interesting detail that was changed with the VBB were the treads, which here were only attached to the footboard and replaced by a rubber mat in the tunnel area. With the VBB model series, Piaggio now also changed the engine concept from piston control to rotary valve intake.

Before production ended at the end of the 1970s, the Vespa Rally was equipped with an electronic ignition system, making it a pioneer once again.

Vespa PX The last large-frame model can look back on a history of no less than 40 years, which only came to an end in 2016. In its long history, numerous models of the Vespa PX found their way onto the market, bringing with them many changes over the course of time. These included modifications to the cascade, choke and petrol tap or the separate lubrication system.

The latter was established in all displacement classes with the Vespa PX Lusso. This had the advantage that petrol and oil were refuelled separately and the oil therefore had to be topped up much less frequently. Another important change was the disc brake, introduced in 1998, which gave the scooter a completely different braking feel. The clear glass headlights were also an important milestone, because thanks to reflector technology, Vespa riders now had much better illumination in road traffic.

If you want to own a Vespa GS4 or Vespa Rally, you will have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. For models in good condition, prices can quickly reach five figures.

The advantage of the cheaper versions is that you can install a modern engine in all largeframe models at any time, as the large-frame engines are seamlessly interchangeable. This makes the purchase of such a model particularly interesting, because an oldie with a modern engine, for which a lot of accessories and tuning parts are available, promises hours of screwing and driving fun.

Vespa T5 As with many of its predecessors, the name of the Vespa T5 is also significant. Thus the Vespa GS stands for “Grand Sport”, the Vespa SS for “Super Sport”, the Vespa T4 for “Touring”, the Vespa Rally for the model for rallying and the Vespa T5 for “Traversi cinque” (T=Traversi =overflow, 5=Cinque=Five). For the first time, this engine had five overflow ports built in, through which the petrol-air mixture could enter the cylinder. This type of cylinder layout was unique at the time and has since become the standard for modern two-stroke engines.

The Vespa T5 was Piaggio’s attempt to transport the PX visually into the 1980s. In doing so, they also jumped on the trend towards angular shapes that characterised the era.

For example, a sheet metal box was attached to the rear end above the standard rear end, which lengthened the PX rear end overall.

This had the advantage that the seat could also be made longer and more comfortable.

The tail light, bumper, large speedometer with integrated rev counter and the square headlight are also unmistakably designed in 80s style.

The Vespa T5 also had a lot to offer under the bonnet. With this type of modern cylinder arrangement, Piaggio had succeeded for the first time in constructing a 125 that could hold a candle to a 200 model in terms of performance. While the PX200 with 12 hp was the most powerful model to date, the T5 had the same power with less displacement and was very pleasant to ride at the same time.

Vespa Cosa Visually controversial, interesting by the standards of the time and frowned upon by our experts Olli and Jesco: this is the Vespa Cosa, which was built from 1988 to 1998 and offered some interesting details. Storage compartment under the seat, a hydraulically operated integral brake system and an optionally available anti-lock braking system on the front wheel (EBC) were just some of the technical refinements that the model brought with it. Not only did the carburettor come with an electronic-based petrol tap and automatic starting system out of the box - a completely new feature at the time was an electronic rev counter with analogue display positioned centrally in the dashboard. Although the manufacturer wanted to replace the Vespa PX with this model, it not only continued to be built in the meantime, but was also produced and delivered long after the Vespa Cosa had ceased production.

If you want to enter the largeframe world and get a taste of it, a good start is with a Vespa PX model, because these are available from around 2,000 euros in good condition (as of July 2021). The PX Lusso in particular is one of the inexpensive wasps, while the PX Mo-delle from 98’ onwards offer slightly better technology, but at the same time are very prone to rust. Those who prefer a retro look should look for a VNB, VBB or Sprint or Sprint Veloce, whose prices range between 2,000 and 3,000 euros.

The town in Tuscany hosted the new edition of the Vespa World Daysa Vespa rally held for the first time in the place where the Vespa has been born and manufactured since 1946. For four days, the entire city honoured this icon with special events, photo and art exhibitions and a film festival.

Mauro Calestrini, about whom there was a lot to report last year, will remain at the helm of the association for the next few years and the new Board consists of the following members: Enrique Alcade (Spain), Julie Pond (Australia), Marco Modaini (Luxembourg) and Lorenzo Riccardi (China). Ricciardo Costagliola, who had acted as interim president following Calestrini’s resignation, is no longer on the board. The officials have already agreed on a new location: the Vespa World Days will be held in Gijon, Spain, in 2025. Congratulations! España, ¡allá vamos!

The Vespa World Club was founded in 2006

by Piaggio and the Piaggio Foundation. Its direct predecessor organisation was the “Federation Internationale des Vespa Clubs” (FIV), which had to be dissolved in 2005 due to a lack of financial support. Today, 63 nations belong to the Vespa World Club with a total of over 70,000 members organised in local clubs.

There can only be one destination for fans of two-wheelers: POLINI - a name that makes the hearts of Vespa, scooter and moped riders beat faster. What our man gets to see and experience on site is definitely worth the journey.

esco is welcomed by Simon Polini, son of co-founder Franco Polini, who made the company big in the 1970s together with his brothers Piero and Carlo. Piero recalls the beginnings of Polini in front of our Camera and aptly describes the development: “It started as a Game, but then it became a business.” They led a wild life back then. Part of it was racing, and Piero alone won countless trophies and prizes.

THE BEGINNINGS OF A SUCCESS STORY It’s the 1940s, and Italy is cycling! Father Battista Polini returns from the front and begins to build robust bicycles that make it easier for workers to get around on tarmac.

The children Carlo, Franco and Piero help out in the shop from an early age and develop a passion for two-wheeled mechanics. At the end of the 1950s, motorbikes and scooters became popular. Anyone with petrol in their blood, like the Polinis, cannot help but enter

the motorised two-wheeler industry with enthusiasm. In the early 70s, one of the brothers, Piero, even became a motorbike racer himself and won three Italian Enduro titles. Since then, he has stood at the top of the podium over three hundred times.

For years, we had this dream of experiencing a true ‘Epic Ride’ together with friends and our team from SIP Scootershop. It was meant to be something unique, right in the middle of the cold European February, but under the warm sun of Asia: a Vespa road trip from Bangkok to Koh Chang in Thailand!

ur diverse travel group consisted of Ralf and Alex, the two founders of SIP Scootershop, our purchasing manager Moritz, as well as friends Lukas, Philip, Poldi, Max, Hasi and international companions such as Jerome and Henry from the Scooterclub du Sudest in France, Eugene from the Philippines (Scooterdepot), and Stas from the Vespaclub St. Petersburg.

Our local contact in Thailand was Lome from Bangkok, a long-time friend and founder of Vintage Vespa Thai. He promised us not only spectacular vintage Vespas for all participants but also organized hotels, local Vespa clubs, and ensured that we lacked nothing.

The route the next day took us close to the Cambodian border, and small breakdowns forced us to do spontaneous repairs by the roadside. Our Thai friends showed real improvisation skills, always having a solution ready for any problem. Spontaneously, one or two other scooterists joined our tour. A real highlight occurred at the ferry to Koh Chang: Just before the pier, one scooter had a seized piston. Without hesitation, “Mr. Benz” began dismantling the engine by the roadside and repaired the scooter during the ferry crossing – to the roaring applause of all involved.

Upon arriving in Koh Chang, we were greeted by a stunning sunset and an exquisite dinner at the picturesque Iyara Seafood Restaurant.

Afterward, we checked into our hotel in the south of the island, where we relaxed and ended the evening.

The following day was truly epic: After a Vespa ride through the dense jungle of Koh Chang down to Bang Bao Pier, we switched to a boat and embarked on a relaxing trip to Ko Khlum with swimming, snorkelling, fishing – and, of course, Chang beer. To finish the day, we experienced perhaps the most beautiful sunset of our lives at a beach bar in front of Ko Man Mai Island. When a joking request for elephants on the beach was made, host Lome quickly grabbed the phone – and indeed: a few minutes later, three majestic elephants were standing right in front of us on the beach! Even the wild monkeys around us could hardly believe it.

Thailand was a dream come true for all of us – an unforgettable Epic Ride that is unlikely to be repeated in this form. Back in Bangkok, we spent a few more days full of exciting experiences off the beaten tourist track – once
