MISSION The Mission of the Sioux Falls Family YMCA is to serve all people and to help them reach their God-given potential through the development of spirit, mind and body. The Y: strengthening the foundations of community.

POLICY OF NON-DISCRIMINATION Y membership is available to all persons regardless of race, religion, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or financial circumstances. The Y welcomes families and persons of all ages, income levels and physical conditions with an emphasis on responsibility and selfimprovement.

MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER Membership and program privileges are not transferable from one person to another.

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION At the Y, there are no contracts for the length of your membership. If you need to cancel your membership, please drop by the Y and complete a cancellation form at least 45 days before your automatic monthly fee transfer day.

This will allow us to stop the transfer.

PAYMENT OPTIONS & INFORMATION * Membership dues must be up-to-date in order to use the facility. * Rates and schedules are subject to change. * Programs and Annual memberships may be paid in full by cash, check, AmEx, VISA, MasterCard and Discover. * Monthly payments are payable by bank draft only. There is no cash option for monthly payments.

PARKING We have two FREE designated parking lots for our members and guests: * First Congregational Church (subject to availability based on Church events) * Parking lot directly across Minnesota Ave from the YMCA entrance

CAMERA POLICY For the privacy and security of all, especially our kids and teens, we do not allow any photo or video recording without permission from a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

CODE OF CONDUCT The YMCA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members and guests. To promote safety and comfort for everyone, all individuals are asked to act appropriately by exhibiting the character values of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty, at all times. A member, participant or guest who is in violation of the Code of Conduct could be subject to consequences including removal from a program and/or termination of membership or program privileges.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION YMCA “AWAY” (ALWAYS WELCOME AT THE Y) The Sioux Falls Family YMCA allows A.W.A.Y. members to use the YMCA for up to 4 individual visits per month. You must provide your current YMCA membership card and government issued photo ID/driver’s license to gain access to the Y as an A.W.A.Y. member.

LOCKER ROOMS & LOCKERS * The main locker rooms are available to adults 18 + for daily use. Please bring your own lock to secure your belongings when using the facility. * Our family-friendly locker room is for parents who wish to accompany their child over the age of five and/or of the opposite gender. * Lockers are available for $10/month.

YOUTH AND TEEN POLICY * Ages 7 and under: Youth must be under the direct supervision of a member parent or member caregiver (15 and over), at all times, unless they are participating in a Y program. * Ages 8-9: Youth may use the gym or racquetball courts without direct parental supervision. * Ages 10-11: Youth may use the gym or racquetball courts without direct parental supervision. This age group may use bikes, steppers and rowing machines in the Rysdon Conditioning Center with direct parental supervision only after going through a Youth Orientation and wearing a colored wristband. * Ages 12-15: Youth/Teens may use all equipment in the Rysdon Conditioning Center and designated strength equipment without direct parental supervision only after going through a Youth Orientation and wearing a colored wristband. * Ages 16-17: Youth/Teens may use all courts.

Cardio/Strength equipment may be used without direct parental supervision.

KID ZONE

Spend time with other moms as you discover different approaches for enriching motherhood and your child’s life! With a variety of projects and discussions on the latest parenting techniques, this will become a weekly must for all moms!

PARENTS’ TIME OUT

Family Membership parents, take the night off and be assured your children will have the time of their lives in a safe and fun environment with caring staff! Children ages 3-13 will enjoy four hours filled with games, sports, themed activities and fun! Simply check your children in at the Y between 6pm-6:30pm on any Saturday night for a night of fun activities until 10pm! While your kids are having a great time at the Y, you and your friends can enjoy an evening in Downtown Sioux Falls!

No fees. Must register by Wednesday prior to guarantee spot. Children must be potty trained.

HEALTHY LIVING At the Y, you will find a community of people at every age and level of activity, just like you, all on a journey to improve their health. The Y is dedicated to providing you the guidance and the support you need to achieve your wellness goals by providing quality programs in a caring and values based environment.

MyFit Consultation

Equipment 101 Orientation

Everyone comes to the Y at a different level and with different goals. For some, becoming active can be intimidating, while others may be ready to jump right in and get moving. The MyFit Consultation is a free 60-minute program designed to ease you into your Y experience and help you find “Your Fit� at the Y. During the first half of the consultation, a Y Healthy Living Coach will work with you to create a roadmap that will match up your health goals with the appropriate Y program(s). During the second half of the consultation, your coach will guide you through an orientation of our strength and conditioning equipment. You may sign up for a MyFit consultation at the Y Welcome Center. *Free for Y Members*

Our Equipment 101 Orientation is a free equipment orientation led by a Y Healthy Living Coach. During this 45-60 minute appointment, our Healthy Living Coaches will show you how to adjust the Cybex Strength machines and safely operate the cardiovascular machines. Equipment 101 is for new members who want to use our equipment for the first time or for returning exercisers who need an equipment refresher. *Free for Y Members*

Youth Fitness Orientation (Ages 10-15) A Youth Fitness Orientation is required for all youth ages 10-15 who wish to use the Rysdon Conditioning Center. After completing the orientation, colored wristbands must be worn by the youth member in order to access specific equipment in the Rysdon Conditioning Center.

Aquatics Your Y membership provides you access to the pool at EMBE, located in the building right behind the Y. By providing your current Y membership card and a photo ID, you have access to lap swim, family swim, open swim, whirlpool, water aerobics classes and day-use locker rooms.

Active Older Adults Get Active, Stay Healthy and Live Longer The Y offers all kinds of wellness opportunities for active older adults, from baby boomers to seniors, including physical fitness, water exercise, social activities and more. There are several options available for you to get started. You can sign up for a MyFit Consultation with one of our Healthy Living Coaches or try a Silver Sneakers exercise class. Women on Weights “WoW” “WoW” is an introductory 7-week class designed for women who are interested in learning how to use free weights and incorporate them into your workout program. This progressive program will incorporate an educational component and hands-on instruction during each class session. Gain confidence in the weight room while you learn about the facts/myths of strength training and proper form. Register online or at the Y Welcome Center.

Teens in Training “TnT” “TnT” is an introductory 7-week strength and conditioning class, taught by a certified trainer, designed for youth and teens ages 12-15. This progressive program includes an educational component and hands-on instruction during each class session. The class focuses on teaching the proper techniques of strength and conditioning while providing education on basic anatomy.

This class may be taken in place of a Youth Fitness Orientation. Space is limited.

YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program

In the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, a trained lifestyle coach introduces topics in a supportive, small group environment and encourages participants as they explore how healthy eating, physical activity and behavior changes can benefit their health.

Our 12-month program consists of 16 one-hour, weekly sessions, followed by monthly sessions led by a trained lifestyle coach who facilitates a small group of people with similar goals.

38TH ANNUAL LEWIS RACQUETBALL PRO-AM January 20-24, 2016 The Sioux Falls Family YMCA is proud to be home to the Lewis Racquetball Pro-Am, the longest running tournament in the United States. Top-ranked players come from all over the nation to participate in this televised event.

Our courts are among the best in the country.

The main courts feature glass walls that provide excellent views for the hundreds of spectators who come to watch the pros in action. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the YMCA and other locations of play.

YMCA Camp Leif Ericson Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow! But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain more weight and fall behind in studies. On April 30th, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.

YMCA Camp Leif Ericson Since 1920, our Sioux Falls YMCA camps have provided generations of campers with a safe, meaningful and life-changing outdoor camping experience. Children return year after year to enjoy our beautiful camp property, nestled along the forested shoreline of the Big Sioux River.

While camp is close to home in the heart of Sioux Falls, it feels like a world away.

Our facilities and location are terrific, but we know that it’s our counselors that make the camp experience so special. Our team creates a safe and positive environment where boys and girls build confidence, learn new skills and make new friends.

Summer after summer, our campers return to reunite with their best friends and camp counselors. There are favorite horses to ride, campfires to enjoy and old camp stories to be re-told.

Our counselors give special attention to our new campers, who quickly make friends and are welcomed into the camp family. Your child remains with the same counselor and small group of children each week as they travel to activities together. The first day at camp includes several “get to know you” activities and games to make your child feel safe and comfortable.

We make camp fun and convenient for parents, too: * Exciting parent’s night program, complete with campfire and songs * FREE daily bus transportation for your child to/from camp * FREE hot lunch for your child each day * FREE “parent’s night out” when your child enjoys their overnight * FREE daily access to photos through Bunk-1 * Before and after camp childcare (7:30am-5:30pm)
