BIG ACTS CANDLEBOX
Fresh off the release of its fifth studio album, “Live Stories & Other Musings,” which evidences a newfound level of maturity for the band, Candlebox is here to show us how to rock hard. Formed in 1991 in Seattle when grunge was king, the group has persevered to continue its love of making music. As the new album emphatically reveals, frontman Kevin Martin, lead guitarist Peter Klett, drummer Scott Mercado, and their bandmates, remain filled with the youthful exuberance that marked their first goround in the 1990s, a decade during which they ran off a string of alt-rock classics while selling north of 5 million albums.
SALIVA Don’t be fooled by the name of the band, these guys don’t just drool on stage. No, they whip everyone into a rock-infused frenzy during their perfomances. Formed in Memphis in 1996, Saliva released its self-titled debut album one year later to fantastic results. But it was the bands’ third album “Back into Your System, which reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200 that launched one of Saliva’s most successful songs, “Always.” At the end of 2011, after 15 years with the band, lead singer Josey Scott decided to leave the band to pursue a solo Christian music career. While initially unsure if the band would continue on, in early 2012 it was announced that Bobby Amaru has joined Saliva as the new vocalist. 8 | Awesome Biker Nights 2013 | www.siouxland.net | A SUPPLEMENT TO THE WEEKENDER
Rick Springfield For all of his accomplishments as an actor, best-selling author and documentary subject, Rick Springfield has always insisted his first love is music, a passion he’s harbored since first picking up the guitar at the age of 12 in his native Australia. With 25 million albums sold, 17 top-40 hits, including “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “An Affair of the Heart,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody” and “Human Touch,” as well as a 1981 Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal win for his No. 1 hit single “Jessie’s Girl” behind him, Springfield is not willing to rest on his laurels. Instead he continues to travel internationally. He released a brand new album last year, “Songs for the End of the World.”
He once was lead vocalist for The Babys and Bad English. As a solo artist, he scored several international hits, including 1984’s “Missing You”, a No. 1 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. But three decades have passed since this restless, wild-eyed teenager from northwest England first packed his bags for London to pursue his passion for music, and though he has enjoyed formidably staying power, chart-topping records and sold-out concerts around the world, John Waite’s hunger has never diminished – it has simply become something much more complex. That’s what he will bring to the ABN stage Saturday night.

OTHER ACTS Kory and the Fireflies »
This ABN favorite creates what’s been described as “pop rock with punch.” The band has also got a special gift for connecting with audiences and creating a magical unity at almost every show. They’ve toured with Goo Goo Dolls, Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth and supported more than 60 other national acts including Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock and many others.
The Draft was founded when the god of rock brewed some of his epic “Ambeersia” in the sacred brewery … or at least, that’s how the legend begins. Since then, Premium Draft has opened/played shows for Sebastian Bach, Cinderella, The Nadas, The Kris Lager Band, Hadden Sayers and many more. The local band recently released a new album, “Songs for the Stranded.”
GhostShip Dust N’ Bones
Casey Muessigmann All-around good guy, and Spencer, Iowa native, Casey Muessigmann is no stranger to brushes with fame. Last year, Muessigmann participated in the open audition process for “The Voice”, Season 3, ultimately taking a spot on Blake Shelton’s team. Since his elimination from the show, he has used the entire experience as a springboard, continuing his writing and performing all over the Midwest.
No big deal, this group claims to be the Midwest’s No. 1 Guns N’ Roses tribute band since its inception in 2007. And no matter where the group is, its members always put on an unforgettable live show singing classic songs from the Roses’ 1986 - 1994 era all while rocking leather pants like no one’s business. This is a show to not only be heard, but seen.
Kayla Adams Band » Blonde-haired and blue-eyed country music up and comer Kayla Adams, has been playing professionally since 2008. Originally from Montana, she has played countless live shows including music venues, fairs and festivals and even shared the stage with fellow country blondie Kellie Pickler. 10 | Awesome Biker Nights 2013 | www.siouxland.net | A SUPPLEMENT TO THE WEEKENDER
This mangy local band has been tearing up stages across the Midwest for 14 years. This group’s second full length album ever, “Etched in Stone,” was released last month. GhostShip plays an eclectic variety of hard rock and metal covers along with its own originals.
Don Ray Band The prodigal son returns! Here is an all original, americana/roots rock band that is anchored by singer/ songwriter Don Ray and is produced by Musician’s Hall Of Fame Guitarist, Will McFarlane. Ray was born into a musical family in Sioux City but left the Midwest for Austin at age 18. He enjoys coming back to his hometown to rock hard. See the previous page for full band listings.
