Wu Ta-You Memorial Hall Dr. Ta-You Wu (1907-2000) was a renowned scholar in contemporary China and an internationally acclaimed physicist. Dr. Wu taught at Peking University and Southwest United

University in China, National Research Council of Canada and State University of New York at Buffalo. Later he served as the director of the Institute of Physics at Academia Sinica. He is thus regarded as the father of contemporary Chinese physics. After Dr. Wu s passing away in 2000, the Institute of Physics at Academia Sinica established the Wu Ta-You Memorial

Hall, which is located on the 4th floor of the institute s building. Dr s statue, books,

manuscripts, photographs and documentary films are exhibited. Also on display is Dr s private collection, his office and living room during his tenure as the director of the Institute of Physics.

The Environment Surrounding the Forest Park for Ecological Research The Environment Surrounding the Forest Park for Ecological Research is contributed by

Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation. This park, a total length of 362 meters

and highest elevation at 65 meters, is located in between the gymnasium and the Humanities and Social Sciences Building.

The western side of the park passes through a drier monoculture bamboo plantation which is a remnant of earlier settlements. Forest Park of Ecology Research is a place for colleagues

to have a short but delightful forest shower, meanwhile for visitors to be aware of the importance of conservations.
