Singapore Gymnastics RPL Document Submission Information Sheet

The following information is designed to clarify the requirements for document submission for RPL.

If a submission is a required field and you do not have it you probably are not eligible for that RPL Category.

Category 1 – Lapsed Singaporean Coaching Accreditation

For coaches who have previously held Singapore Gymnastics Coach Accreditation but it is currently lapsed.

Type of Accreditation Requesting

• Fundamentals – previously called Level 1

• Intermediate – previously called Level 2 Coaching Qualifications (National)

• Submit evidence of your previous Singapore Gymnastics accreditation VPS

• Submit your Values and Principles in Sport certification

Standard First Aid

• Submit your Standard First Aid certification

• Must be valid for at least the next 6 months Payment

• Payment includes processing and, if approved, complimentary Technical Member registration for the remainder of the calendar year

Category 2 – Republic Polytechnic Students Finalising Accreditation

For student coaches with Republic Polytechnic course modules S667 & S261 that relate to coaching of Gymnastics.

Republic Polytechnic course modules S667 & S261 transcript

• Transcript from RP

• Note that evidence of both modules are required in a single file to upload Coaching Logsheet

• Submit completed Logsheet demonstrating 10 hours of attachment with SG affiliated club

• If you have a variation of the 10 hours approved by Singapore Gymnastics, include evidence of this VPS

• Submit your Values and Principles in Sport certification

Standard First Aid

• Submit your Standard First Aid certification

• Must be valid for at least the next 6 months Payment

• Payment includes processing and, if approved complimentary Technical Member registration for the remainder of the calendar year

Category 3 – International Accreditation from Approved Countries

For coaches who have moved to Singapore within 3 months, with accreditation from a FIG Coach Academy Course and/or the following National federations:

• Gymnastics Australia

• British Gymnastics

• Gymnastics New Zealand

• Gymnastics Canada

• South African Gymnastics Federation Discipline

• Select discipline you are requesting RPL for Coaching Qualification

• Relevant coach certification from National Association mentioned above

Academic Transcript

• Academic transcript if completed (related to coaching)

Letter of Good Standing (National Association)

• Letter from the National Association/Federation from the country you most recently worked

• The intention of this is to ensure that all coaches accredited in Singapore are fully vetted and comply with SportSG and Singapore Gymnastics Safe Sport unified code

• The letter should be written on letterhead of National Association

• Please refer to Appendix for template

Letter of Good Standing (previous club)

• Letter from the club you most recently worked at

• The letter should include:

o Details of employment period

o Details of position held

o Details of responsibilities

o Confirmation that the coach has never been the subject to any complaint investigation.

▪ OR, notify details of the complaint investigation

VPS

• Indicate if coach has previously attained Values and Principles in Sport certification and upload where applicable

Understanding Safe Sport as a Coach

• Complete and upload Understanding Safe Sport as a Coach online module

Standard First Aid

• Submit Standard First Aid certification (must be valid for at least the next 6 months) Video of Coaching

• Video cannot be uploaded directly.

o It must be uploaded to a personal dropbox, google drive, youtube, etc account.

o Copy the link to it and save it in a document

o Upload this document (or pdf)

• Video should be of at least 1 hour duration

o This can be broken up into smaller clips but must add to an hour

• Video should include audio of coach wherever practical and must be in English

• Video should showcase the main body of the session (warm ups are not considered)

• Video should show skills that relate to the SG National Levels

• Video should demonstrate the following competencies:

o Impact i.e. high engagement, low risk environment, safe lead-up activities etc.

o Technical competency i.e. use of appropriate progressions, spotting techniques according to physical ability etc.

o Instructional competency i.e. effective use of instruction, demonstration, observation, feedback, spotting etc.

o Class organisation and management i.e. effective management of groups for safe outcomes, high participation levels and efficient traffic flow.

o Communication and climate i.e. effective communication that is athlete-centered.

Payment

• Payment includes processing and, if approved, complimentary Technical Member registration for the remainder of the calendar year

• If application is not approved, payment will go towards the next coaching course

Category 4 – International Accreditation from Other Countries

For coaches coaches who have moved to Singapore within 3 months, with University degree/ Diploma transcripts or coaching accreditation from countries not listed in Category 3 that relate to coaching of Gymnastics.

Discipline

• Select discipline you are requesting RPL for Academic Transcript

• Tertiary academic transcript related to coaching of Gymnastics

• Eg: Bachelor of Sport Coaching Coaching Qualifications

• Relevant coaching certification Letter of Good Standing (National Association)

• Letter from the National Association/Federation from the country you most recently worked

• The intention of this is to ensure that all coaches accredited in Singapore are fully vetted and comply with SportSG and Singapore Gymnastics Safe Sport unified code

• Submit Standard First Aid certification (must be valid for at least the next 6 months) Session Plan for video below

• Provide session plan for session that was video’d for this submission.

• Session plan should be written in English and include all relevant components of the session

Macro Plan (Season Plan)

• Provide a Season or Yearly plan in English

• Session plan should be written in English and include all relevant components of the session

• Please refer to Appendix for template (note: coach can use other template format that best suits them)

Video of Coaching

• Video cannot be uploaded directly.

o It must be uploaded to a personal dropbox, google drive, youtube, etc account.
