This project was a class-sized project where we had to research and develop architectural solutions for the town of Angelica, NY. The solutions focused on three major efforts hardscapes, softscapes, and buildings. I was put into the buildings group and was tasked to develop a senior living center on the site of the abandoned school building in Angelica. Additionally I was tasked to model existing buildings 1-to-1 for the video walkthrough I particapated in putting together for the project.

This project is based in NYC next to the Highline. The premise is to design a building over a parking lot and have strong connectivity from the Highline to the building. The concept of my building is playing around with modularity. This is seen through the modules for the residential rooms and the different styles of brick construction used.

Villa Fondi is a Villa that resides in Piano di Sorrento, Italy. The project goal was to visit the site and observe what are the issues of the site. After talking with a citizen in Piano my partner Eric and I found that other than the museum and cafe, the site is lacking activities to bring the community together. We decided to change the layout of the villa and added amenities to bring the community of Piano together.

This is a submission for the HOME 2023 contest. This year we were tasked to design restrained to a grid. Each unit is limited to 600 sqft. The site is located near the ruins in Sorrento Italy. The concept for this project is to explore the beauty of Ancient Italian architecture, I designed a residence with Neo-classical architecture with modern amenities in a smaller structure. Looking back in history people have been dwelling in homes for centuries. Using what worked for people in the past I designed a dwelling best for a person.

In this project, we were given only restraints to the building floors, heights, and width to design a facade. We were tasked to look into Italian modernism for ideas. Art Nouveau is the style I gravitated to because the organic and nature-inspired architecture was beautiful. Classical architecture is another style that I gravitated to which contradicts the flowy nature of Art Nouveau. In this project, I decided to merge both architectures that follow the principles of classical and flowy architecture of Art Nouveau.

HARMONYDIAGRAM

The harp design is seen throughout the building. First, the harp windows with iron bars act as its strings. Second, the entrance has the columns being the strings of the building. Lastly, the vine design signifies the natural influence that Art Nouveau has. All of this while still holding to the rules of Classicism with the proportion and harmony of the building.

The concept of this building revolves around the story of Orpheus. The foundation of this concept lies with the harp Orpheus is depicted holding. This shape being curvaceous and flowy while still being associated with a story from the Classical era fit perfectly.

In this project, I was tasked to design a museum in Rochester, NY that brought the history and culture of the rural farms of NY to the city. In my concept, I focused on time and change signifying the evolution of agricultural technology throughout time. The site is located next to Parcel 5 a popular event gathering space in the city. On each floor, as you progress through the building many designs change such as the structural system, the floor plan size, and the truss system outside. On the third floor holds the exhibit space. I designed with flow in mind and in each room, you will be going through the history of agriculture and eventually end up seeing what the future of farming could possibly look like.

The main focus of this project was modularity. We were tasked to design a dormitory on campus where the site was very hilly. The name Terra comes from the blue, white, and green on the façade. Since this site was very unfavorable for the students being that it was the farthest away from the classes and dining halls, my main focus on this project was comfortability. The building has a big lobby space for students with many amenities including a café, gym, and laundry. The dorms are separated into four wings with over 100 dorms. For my sustainability efforts, I used a green roof for its benefits and aesthetic.

A submission from me for the HOME 2022 contest where you design a 600 ft^2 residential home and the site could be anywhere on Earth. I decided to go to my roots and choose Turkey specifically choosing the historical city of Mardin. Using the architecture and aesthetic to my advantage in designing this home.

In this project, we were tasked to design a community center in Buffalo NY. Our class visited the site and used what we learned about the context of the city and incorporated it into our design. I found that the area around the site had no places for teenagers and kids to enjoy. There are multiple different spaces with activities for multiple age groups to engage in.

In this project, the main focus was detail and basically what architecture really is. Making correct dimensions, sections, and more. From bathroom layouts to the insulation in the walls, this project taught me one of the important sides of architecture which is detailing buildings
