200 Back-to-School Backpacks Provided by 5 Local State Farm Agents
While it's sometimes easy to take for granted the convenience something as simple as a backpack provides, it's certainly not lost on those students who don't have one to carry their school supplies and heavy books Local Jessamine County State Farm Insurance agents Randall Chewning, Michael Cayse, Steve Page, Jennifer Hawkins and Richard Woolums want to ensure that JCS students are prepared with backpacks when they return to school this Fall Last year, these agents pooled together their resources and rallied a total of 100 backpacks for our resource centers at Jessamine County Schools. The backpacks were so needed, they quickly discovered 100 wasn't going to be enough moving forward. That's why this year, our local State Farm agents provided double the amount of backpacks from the first year, making the total 200 for our students in need
State Farm Agent Randall Chewning weighed in on the presentation of the backpacks to the family resource center "We are trying to kick off Cram the Cruiser It's a series of events that come together But ultimately, we hope the students here in Jessamine County win. It's just something we decided to do collectively, as a group of agents "
According to State Farm agent Michael Cayse, the need may not always be apparent, but it's when students are focused on the heavy books and social implications instead of learning that we really notice how important backpacks really are to students. Nicholasville Police Officer Adam Teater agreed, saying that every experience is big to these students, " so being able to walk in and be prepared helps so much "
That's why Cram the Cruiser is so special to NPD. They see a need for supplies for all ages and all schools in Jessamine County. Each year, the community bands together to " cram the cruiser" with school supplies for JCS that students can use all year long, officer Jermaine Jackson said Officer Sam Wade agreed, saying that supplies have to be prepared before real learning can take place.
The first day of school, nerves are up, and to go into school with no or limited supplies puts you at a deficit.
- Adam Teater, NPD
On behalf of Jessamine County Living Magazine, we want to thank our State Farm agents for the generous donations of the 200 backpacks to our school resource centers. Also, we want to thank the Nicholasville Police Department for organizing Cram the Cruiser again this year Thank you to our neighbors who donated to our schools and students This year, our students are better equipped to learn because of your generosity and compassion
