Letter From Judge West

With school back in session, the days growing shorter, and the weather getting cooler, residents may be looking for entertaining ways to hang out as a family or spend time with friends. Jessamine County has many events held in autumn that has fun for all ages. Enjoy live music at the Jessamine County Fairgrounds for Barks & Bluegrass, an event on September 10th that supports the County Animal Shelter. In September, More Tales Storytelling Festival, held the 16th to 17th in Wilmore, and the Antique Tractor Show, held the 16th to 18th at the Fairgrounds, are back in Jessamine County this year. On October 1st in Wilmore, the Craft Show will be open for all to visit, and another popular event is the Jessamine County Fall Festival, which will be October 14th and 15th in Downtown Nicholasville Visit the county website at www JessamineCo com for information about events So as the leaves change color, and the Bluegrass is painted in warm color, I hope all residents and visitors can find joy and memorable moments throughout Jessamine County.

Although it looks and feels more like early summer as I write this, we all know that fall is quickly approaching! Some not-so-subtle hints such as school buses rolling throughout the county, campus activity at the University and Seminary, and summer closeout sells on East Main Street are just a few signs And another indicator is the buzz popping up about the 5th Wilmore “More Tales” Storytelling Festival, September 14-17. You won’t want to miss this great family friendly and free event, thanks to some marvelous donors. And while you are marking your calendar, block off the first Saturday in October for the 24th annual Wilmore Fall Arts & Crafts Festival! Some of the best craftsmen and artisans in the region will be set up on East Main Street, along with food trucks, children’s activities, live music, and of course our many shops will be open as well. Come visit us soon!
