APPRAISAL SERVICES

Simpson Galleries has the in-house expertise to produce the highest quality appraisals of a single painting or a large estate collection. All appraisals exceed the requirements set forth by appraisal societies, insurance companies, and the Internal Revenue Service. Our decades of experience in the auction market provides for the most accurate and informed valuations.

We offer verbal and written appraisals for:

· Estate Tax/Gift Tax

· Charitable Donations

· Insurance/Replacement Value

· Fair Market Value for Financial Planning

· Collection Evaluation for Sale

· Damage and Loss

· Equitable Distribution

All of our appraisals follow the guidelines as set forth by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) as established by the Congressionally created Appraisal Foundation to maintain the public trust and ensure that appraisals are independent, consistent, and objective.

Our appraisal fees are competitive with industry standards and based on an hourly rate, not including travel expenses. Verbal appraisals and valuation consultations will be charged on a case-by-case basis. For larger appraisals, an overall adjusted hourly rate or total cost will be determined project. The scope of work for each appraisal includes the time to examine the property, inventorying and photography, market research, and preparation of the final appraisal report. No fees are ever related to the value of the property being appraised nor based upon a percentage of the appraised value.
