This is a great way to learn step by step the basic fundamentals of yoga. You will learn the language of Yoga and the purpose for each stretch and posture.

Belly Dancing 101 Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm Group Exercise Room This 101 Belly Dancing class will teach you the basic belly dancing moves. This class will give you a great workout while having lots of fun. Invite a girl friend to join you! Session I Feb. 24-Apr. 7, (7 classes) $111 ($91 JCC member)

Specialized Instruction Can’t afford a personal trainer right now but need some guidance getting started on a training program? This class is like having a personal trainer in a small group setting at only $15 per class for members. (ages 16 and up) (Only 8 participants allowed)

JCC Members only, All sessions are one hour long and expire 4 months after the date of purchase. All Personal Instruction is scheduled through Starr Kimmer at 321-2322.

Self Defense Mondays, 11am-12pm Self Defense teaches people how to protect themselves against a possible attacker. The class teaches self-defense through physical and mental awareness. (Ages 13 and up) This class is taught by Leslie Flaum, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. Let Dance! Thursdays, 7-8:30pm This class is an interactive fun class for couples. Dances include Ballroom, Swing, Latin and Line Dancing. (13 & up) Session I Jan. 6-Feb. 17 (7 classes) $160 per couple ($140 for JCC Couples)

Private Pilates Instruction Private Pilates instruction may be purchased to help individuals focus on improving posture, muscular imbalances and weaknesses and increasing core strength. Sessions are designed to fit individual needs by utilizing mat and reforming exercises to encompass a full body workout. Sessions should be scheduled with the trainer. 1 Session: $55, 6 Sessions: $312, 12 Sessions: $600

Private Yoga Instruction One hour sessions teach movements promoting balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation through various postures and breathing techniques in the comfort of a personal training session. Sessions should be scheduled with the trainer. 1 Session: $55, 6 Sessions: $312, 12 Sessions: $600

Teen Weight Lifting (Ages 12-15) Join a personal trainer to learn the ropes of the fitness center. During each session teens are put through a workout designed to challenge their fitness level as well as teach proper weight lifting techniques. Sessions: Ongoing $50 for 5 sessions By appointment only, call to schedule. Only teenagers 12-15 who have completed all 5 Teen Weight Lifting sessions may work out in the fitness center without an adult present. Teens 12-15 that have not taken Teen Weight Lifting are welcome in Kid Fit, The Zone, gym or pool (age 8 yrs and up must complete a swimming test to be unaccompanied in pool).

Pink Ribbon Program™

Join Mary Beth Chandler, Breast Cancer Post-Rehab Exercise Specialist, for the Pink Ribbon Program™ which teaches how to stretch and strengthen the shoulder, chest, back and abdominal muscles and regain range of motion to those areas affected by breast cancer surgery.

Positively Pink

Positively Pink is an eight week program that meets twice per week designed to create a positive, energetic healthy environment in which breast cancer survivors can become stronger and less fatigued. Through a specially tailored exercise curriculum, the participants will share in a program which includes aerobic exercise, stretching and strength building. In addition, health education lectures will be given on such topics as exercise, nutrition, yoga, cancer treatment and selfesteem. Classes will last 90 minutes and include 30 minutes of education and 60 minutes of exercise. Classes will be taught by certified personal trainers and Certified Cancer Specialists. In addition, the educational and nutritional components will be taught by specialists in their respective fields. •The program will run for five, eightweek sessions per year and accepting 15 participants per session.

Massage Therapy Tickets expire 4 months after the date of purchase. Look for massage package specials starting February 2011. To schedule an appointment for massage call Starr Kimmer at 321-2322.

Swedish Massage The most commonly offered and best known type of massage, Swedish massage uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage A type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as the Swedish massage, but with more intense pressure. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions”).

Reflexology The physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. Reflexology is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.
