Life Story

B

randon Christopher Morrison affectionately known as “Bran,” will be remembered as a sweetheart to all. He will always be a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. Yet, to some of the cousins, he was considered to be more like a brother. Bran was friendly, exuberant, intelligent, and much fun to be around. He would light up a room with his glowing smile. Brandon was educated in the Philadelphia public school system where he excelled in all of his classes. He attended

Gompers Elementary, BWAP Middle School where he was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society, George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science, and University of Pittsburgh- Titusville Campus. Brandon was a multi sport player. He ran track, played baseball, basketball and football. Football was his passion. He played little league football in the Pop Warner League for the Wynnefield Hawks as a running back and defensive back. He was a star player with the team, and because of his tough, hard-hitting abilities he was nicknamed “Hammer.” The Hawks were the champions for the 95lb Division in the Bert Bell Memorial Conference in 1994. Some of Brandon’s teammates say that Bran is a legend…

wow! If he heard that, it would bring that big smile to his face. Bran enjoyed watching professional sports and his favorite team was the Buffalo Bills…“if they were winning”… and he would switch to the Eagles if the Bills were losing…there’s still hope. He would be so proud of his Bills this year!! He was a fan of the Phillies (GO BILLS). He also loved the Chicago B u l l s ; Michael Jordan was his idol. He wanted to soar in the air just like Mike. Brandon’s favorite sneakers were “Jordans”…he loved those sneakers. When the Bulls vs Pistons played, it was always amusing

to see how Brandon and Bryan would put on their team caps to watch the rival teams go at it. It was a fight to the finish…Go Bulls! As a youth, Brandon accepted the Lord as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in February 1993. Aligning membership at his mother’s congregation, he joined

Christian Stronghold Baptist Church in November 2000. Brandon enjoyed speaking about the Lord even at a young age. There are so many wonderful

memories we have to cherish – another one that stands out is a time when the family visited a nursing home to sing Christmas carols to the senior citizens. We were all off pitch, but Bran’s low, flat key was so off, he had us laughing in hysteria, but the seniors were enjoying it…so much so that they

asked us to keep singing and they were actually making requests. Brandon leaves a legacy of love to: his loving parents, Chavela and Boyd (Settles); Charles and

Elaine (Morrison); two brothers, Bryan (Shafeah), and Morrese; three sisters, Chamika, Syreta and Tanesha; five nephews, Bryan Caleb, Morrese, Jr., Tazjae, Cameron and Noah; one niece, Kayla; grandmother, Theresa (Mom-O); grandfathers, Harry and John; Aunts and Uncles, Pamela, Harriet (Sterling), Mina, Wilda (Herman); Johnny, Lee, Garry, Morris (Melissa), and Donald (Ramona), and a host of special cousins, Great Aunts and Uncles, coupled with many friends.
