Jesus destroyed the evidence. He was about to go through the most horrendous moment of His life, yet He looked at Peter, though He knew Peter would betray Him, THRICE! Yet, Jesus destroyed the evidence against Him.
Colossians 2:14 (J.B. Phillips) reads: "...He has forgiven you all your sins: Christ has utterly wiped out the damning evidence of broken laws and commandments which always hung over our heads, and has completely annulled it by nailing it over His own head on the cross."
He has forgiven you and completely wiped out the evidence, never to be traced or identified with you again, by anyone. God looks at the records of your past, and your sins are no longer there. They have been deleted from the hard drive and formatted, never to be recovered! His blood does not merely cover your sins; it REMITS them, leaving no trace of them.
