Solar Window Tint

Case Study - Liberty Hall | Phase I

Liberty Hall has been an icon of the Dublin skyline for over 50 years. The team at Projekt were engaged in a process to improve the aesthetics of the building over a phased period.

Phase I saw the removal of the deteriorating 1970’s mirrored glass effect from all 1,395 windows and replaced with a solar window tint. This material is see-through from the inside and reduces solar glare by 75% and ultraviolet transmission by 99% while presenting a neutral, reflection-free aspect. This has resulted in a consistent and more contemporary look across the entire building.

Before

Window Frames

Case Study - Liberty Hall | Phase II

For Phase II of improving the aesthetics of Liberty Hall we designed and custom fabricated circa 900 aluminium window covers, powder coated to blend with the original 1960’s frames. These new frame covers were fitted over the existing frames and installed from the outside by a team of abseilers using colourmatched engineer approved fixings.

Architectural Lighting

For Phase III we introduced custom-fabricated LED lighting strips alongside bespoke flood lighting to the building’s most recognisable architectural feature: the elegantly shaped canopy and the intricate mosaic tiles beneath. This bespoke LED lighting can be programmed for special events throughout the year, supporting various charities and good causes. With the addition of this canopy lighting, Liberty Hall has been re-established as the prominent landmark on the Dublin skyline.
