Front and back lit letters are a combination of regular channel letters and reverse channel letters. These special products glow through the front and still give the rich halo effect on the back. These letters may be illuminated with either one or two colors depending on the desired effect.

The reason people refer to them as halo lit channel letters is because of the halo effect the light forms around the letters. Traditional neon is composed of glass and gas. Glass tubes are heated over an open fame and then hand bent to the desired shape. Once shaped they are then flled with an inert gas.

LED is a more recent technology that uses a more complex fabrication process to generate light through electricity. The tubing is made of a fexible material that is much safer than the traditional neon glass tubes.
