Self Reflection
During the beginning of the semester, I was curious to see what we what projects we would be working on and also was happy we were introduced to InDesign . When In Design was introduced, I was a bit intemidated from what would be similar, different, easier, or more challenging compared to other design software. As I had started to learn the program, it became challenging as I did not understand how to add a lot of creativity to my pages, and different functions. Over the semester I believe I was able to have a good understanding on how to use In Design and am proud of some of the layouts I was able to achieve.
The Thinking visually assignments were fun to work on my sketching skills, as I used to draw and paint a lot throughout highschool. It was a challenge Spatial planning for sketching was somewhat challenging as I had to erase and edit a lot of my drawings. Over the term I feel that my sketching skills have improved and gotten much faster; as well ideas to sketch flow faster.
Additionally,I am proud of my ability to grow my skills on other programs like Auto CAD,SketchUp and Lumion.I was able to focus on practing 3D modeling again,and trying out new functions and features for rendering. This semester also allowed me to focus on really being creative with my ideas, sketching, and presentations.
A few action steps that I feel would benifit me in the future would be better time management, practicing software, refining projects, adding more detail to renderings, and practice sketching with minimal time. However, I feel that I successfully was able to grow my skills with producing better quality designs, using software faster, and creative sketching.

Accomplishment 1
Micro Abstract
The Micro Abstract project was one great accomplishment I had throughout the semester. This was an indivdual assignment and allowed me to be creative with shapes and forms. This project also allowed me to practice my rendering skills and features that Lumion offers by adding like trees, people, benches, etc. The Micro abstract poster assignment for this project was a great experience to demonstrate how I wanted to communicate my design.

Accomplishment 2
PAVE Design Competition
The PAVE design competition project was another great accomplishment I had with a partner this semester. This assignment was so fun to design, collaborate, and share with my peers. Entering a competition was very exciting, and I am very proud of the concept and design we put forward. This project also allowed me to practice my skills on SketchUp by creating the building structure for the project. It was a great experience I am grateful I got particpate in, and has helped me understand better design concepts to put forward.

Accomplishment 3
Thinking Visually
The Thinking Visually assignments were another great accomplishment I was able to have this semester. The short time frame to practice sketching was really benefical, and helped me in many of the projects that followed in the semester. I had the experience to get to practice sketching on paper and digitally with my i pad; this allowed me to want to try new styles with my sketches. The Thinking Visually assignments allowed me to really grow my skills to draw a design that helps communicate elements and features of the design to the user.

Accomplishment 4
3D Laser Printing
Learning how to practice 3D laser cutting was a huge accomplishment for me as it was a new experience and skill I got to learn. This was a 3D model of the Micro Abstract project, and it was facisnating to see how people would be able to interact with the space. I am proud with how it turned out, but feel i couldve added more detail for spaces to sit. Overall, it was a great learning experience, and I look forward to trying 3D laser printing again.

Sketching
My progress with sketching was another great accomplishment, as I feel that I lacked with effectively communicating what I was drawing. These sketches are from my Thesis precent studies, and by drawing these detailed interiors it helped me understand what was lacking or needed adjusting. With sketching frequently, I was able to practice using different mediums like pencil, marker and pen. I was also never had strong skills with colouring my sketches and making them visually appealing; I believe I was able to find new techniques to solve aspects of harse lines, shading, and colour.

Course Reflection
After taking the COMM-7017 Design Communications 6 course there were many skills I was able to improve over the semester. The structure of the course had started with Thinking Visually workshops where sketching an image every week was required and had reminded me how often Ishould practice sketching. During the beginning of the course the Best Practices assignment was fun and creative to design. In design was a challenging program to get used to, but allowed me to practice new layouts and designs. I think that practicing design presentations with this software was a great experience, and allowed me to use it in other future projects.
I enjoyed that the course structure was spaced out, and allowed us as students to be creative with our designs. Having only five assignments in te course allowed me to better focus on each one in a good amount of time for detail. As well as I was happy to see how each of my projects that were similar to the past structure were able to be improved. Additionally, sketching and the thinking visually assignments were a useful skill to work on; as practicing sketching is a crutually element of designing planning.
What could be improved with the structure of the course could be having more group break out sessions or peer review times to give suggestions on design to one another. Another thing I feel that would have been helpful is having the assignments 6 and 7 spaced out by a week to allow more time of focus for each.

Conclusion
Overall, I enjoyed the course and believe I was able to practice and enhance some really vaulable skills. I am also happy I got to learn a new program over the semester, and be proud of how creative I was able to be with my presentations. Thinking of new ideas for layouts, sketching and styles has become easier and faster for me. The course has been a great learning experience to effectively communicate my designs. By learning different ways to communicate my projects designs, I look forward to see what I am capable of in the future with more time and practice.
