The Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinics at SKCC bring together specialists to collaboratively evaluate disease and recommend a plan of care. In one visit, patients have the opportunity to see a highly skilled team of experts that specialize in treating cancer at every stage, from newly diagnosed to advanced disease, and offer patients access to novel clinical trials and innovative treatments.

Precision medicine is at the center of all of our multidisciplinary care, and we offer access to genetic testing and the latest clinical trials.

Each team includes key support from multiple specialists including medical and radiation oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pulmonologists, social workers, speech therapists, oncology nurses, nutritionists, and specialized supportive care providers.

Each clinic is supported by navigators who assess patient needs to determine whether the Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic is the appropriate place for the patient to be evaluated, and offer support to both patients and specialists in preparing for the clinic.

Cutaneous Lymphoma Center Patients diagnosed with cutaneous B-cell and T-cell lymphomas often have to crisscross the health system, moving from one office to the next to see different specialists at different times and different locations.

The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center established the Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Lymphoma Center to offer patients a convenient way to see all of the

specialists and obtain all of the necessary tests in the same location at the same time.

The multidisciplinary team, led by co-directors Pierluigi Porcu, MD, and Neda Nikbakht, MD, PhD, includes medical and radiation oncologists, dermatologists, dermatopathologists, nurses, clinical researchers, and a dedicated navigator. The Cutaneous Lymphoma Center provides an infrastructure uniquely conducive to collaborative research. It is the best setting for patient enrollment in sample biorepositories, registry studies, and clinical trials. Our monthly Cutaneous Lymphoma Tumor Board meetings serve as a platform for a multitude of research projects and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Genitourinary Oncology Center Since 1996, the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center’s Multidisciplinary Genitourinary (GU) Oncology Center has provided a unique and integrated approach to patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, and other urinary malignancies.

The GU multidisciplinary clinic allows an efficient and individualized evaluation for each newly diagnosed cancer patient. Our collaborative group includes important feedback and perspective from every specialty including surgical, medical, and radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, medical genetics, supportive services, and a dedicated navigator, which streamlines and standardizes high-quality care.

Our weekly GU Oncology Center helps the team generate ideas for new clinical pathways and clinical trials, and enhances our ability to enroll patients on new and innovative clinical protocols.

The NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center is one of only two nationally ranked cancer centers in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Head & Neck Cancer Center Treating head and neck cancers is a complex undertaking.

Through the weekly Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Center, our experienced team of oncology specialists provides a comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning all in one convenient visit.

With a team of clinical experts including otolaryngology surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, oncology social

workers, speech language pathologists, and nutritionists, the team collaborates to ensure the highest level of care while maintaining a patient’s quality of life and appearance and preserving speech, taste, and hearing functions.

Liver Tumor Center The Jefferson Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Center is dedicated to providing the highest level of evidence-based care, as well as providing access to clinical trials for cutting-edge therapy.

The Liver Tumor Center collaborative team is comprised of hepatologists, surgeons, radiologists, interventional radiologists, and medical and radiation oncologists who specialize in treating all liver tumors, as well as a dedicated navigator, working together to best address the needs of each patient.

Our multidisciplinary approach focuses on providing the best clinical outcomes for patients, from liver transplantation to novel immunotherapy treatment.

Patients with lung cancer face many challenges in seeking out and undergoing treatment. Our dedicated navigator helps to alleviate some of these challenges by coordinating appointments and testing, and providing support as patients move from one treatment modality to the next.

Metastatic Uveal Melanoma Program Uveal, or ocular, melanoma is a rare cancer, affecting only 2,000 people nationwide each year.

About half of people diagnosed with uveal melanoma will go on to develop metastatic disease, most often in the liver.

Our specialists are leaders in the treatment of metastatic uveal melanoma, making SKCC both a national & international referral source for patients.

Sarcoma & Bone Tumor Center The Multidisciplinary Sarcoma and Bone Tumor Center at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center provides patients diagnosed with sarcomas and rare bone cancers an opportunity to see an experienced team of specialists in one visit.

Experts from various specialties — including soft tissue sarcoma pathology, orthopedic oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, musculoskeletal radiology, cardiothoracic surgery, ENT, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and a dedicated navigator — help contribute to the Sarcoma and Bone Tumor Center’s excellent clinical outcomes in this rare and varied disease.

Our team meets regularly to discuss rare and difficult cases that are referred locally and throughout the tri-state area and develop a plan in terms of management and sequence of therapy. These discussions also facilitate the activation of appropriate trials based on our patient population and referral base.

We offer patients the most advanced treatment options. Our robust Phase I Program in collaboration with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute facilitates the availability of novel therapies to our patients.

Along with translational and basic laboratory investigators, the team is currently working on research projects that stem from the cases presented in the multidisciplinary clinic, including chondrosarcoma and chordoma, aiming to elucidate molecular pathways and identify novel biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets.

Senior Adult Oncology Center The Senior Adult Oncology Center at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center provides the unique opportunity for older adults with cancer and their caregivers to undergo a comprehensive geriatric assessment in one appointment, either in person or via telehealth.

The multidisciplinary team, led by co-directors Andrew Chapman, DO, and Kristine Swartz, MD, includes medical oncologists, geriatricians, pharmacists, social workers, nutritionists, physical therapists, and oncology navigators, who work together to de-

velop individualized recommendations in the setting of shared decision making to meet the specific goals of the older adult with cancer.

SKCC’s Senior Adult Oncology Center is the region’s only geriatric oncology multidisciplinary program & one of the first of its kind in the nation.

It is setting the standard model of interprofessional care delivery for older adults with cancer.

Providers currently refer patients aged 65 and older to the Senior Adult Oncology Center for a comprehensive geriatric assessment.

In addition, we assess all patients aged 65 and older who are being evaluated for bone marrow transplant.

Small Renal Mass Center The incidence of renal cell carcinoma has risen over the past two decades with a disproportionate rise in masses that are less than 4 cm. Averaging 10-15 patients each month, the Small Renal Mass Center is an expansion of SKCC’s Genitourinary Multidisciplinary Clinic.

Patients are able to meet in a single setting with both a urologic oncologist who specializes in the evaluation and surgical treatment of renal cell carcinoma, and an interventional radiation oncologist with particular training in thermal ablation of small renal masses and cT1 RCC. Ablation cryotherapy and microwave therapy - has a growing role in the management of these patients, making an interventional radiologist an integral part of the team.

The urologic oncologist has specialized training in the surgical management of these masses, as well as being knowledgeable of the biology of these tumors, which is important with regard to surveillance both up front and after treatment.

The team, led by co-directors Costas Lallas, MD, and Colette Shaw, MD, has published manuscripts, and presented abstracts at regional, national, and international meetings surrounding the management of small renal masses.

E-ATTACK Clinic When faced with a cancer that has relapsed, or is refractory to standard therapies, many patients and treating physicians do not know where to turn. At Jefferson’s new and innovative Phase I E-ATTACK (Expanded Access Through Telemedicine For Advanced Cancers at Kimmel) Clinic, medical oncologists and geneticists meet weekly to review referred patients’ tumor biology and discuss enrollment in our large portfolio of the most cutting-edge phase I therapeutic trials offered in the region.

The initial visit, conducted through face-to-face tele-video technology, allows patients and their families to discuss at length all that is involved in participating in an early phase clinical trial without having to leave the comfort of home. For referring providers, the E-ATTACK clinic offers timely and consistent communication from our highly specialized phase I providers.

Multidisciplinary Clinic Navigators The complexity of navigating and understanding treatment options can be overwhelming for most patients.

Each Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic has a dedicated oncology navigator to help manage the center and assist with coordinating care for patients.

Our navigators provide: • Information on available cancer resources and support • Arrangement of appointments and testing • Assistance gathering necessary medical records including imaging, pathology, and progress notes in an effort to assure a comprehensive visit • Explanation of what patients can expect from their visit • Navigation to appointments around campus as needed • Point-of-contact support for patients and their families during treatment
