Around the District

Hello Yellow Jackets,

Check out some of the wonderful things our students have We are halfway through our school year and been up to so far this school year! things are going well! Despite the challenges surrounding the on-going pandemic, our students and staff are so great at adapting to anything that’s thrown their way. The district is in decent shape financially. With the passage of the earned income tax in May 2021 and the change in the State’s school funding formula, the district should not have a need to ask voters in our community for any new money in the near future. New to the district this year are the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator positions. Our goal is to bridge the ties between schools, families, and the community through engagement opportunities. Ross and Morrison have been very active the first half of the year, making connections throughout the community and assessing the needs of students, staff, and families as they relate to student wellness and success. Sidney High School received a major upgrade over the summer with the addition of air conditioning as a part of an air quality improvement initiative at SHS. The ESSER Grant Program, part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, afforded us the opportunity to help create a healthier indoor environment for our students and staff we would not otherwise Sidney High School FFA was back at the National FFA Convention in be able to afford.
