Amber Meadow Well is a community portrait project by Maria Maza which took place in Meadow Well in 2021. The project took Sirkka-Lisa Konttinen’s 1981 work, Interiors as a starting point. A community exhibition of the work was hosted in and around Meadow Well in shops, schools and community centres, after which a new and varied portrait of the community was created by Maria, shared now in this series of publications. This chapter focuses on Meadow Well’s past and what it was like growing up in The Ridges. Former resident Bill Carr reminisces about his childhood. Chapter 2 of 6.
