Read as many books, novels and graphic novels as you can in May
Submit your reading log
Have family and friends sponsor you



Jarjum educates urban Aboriginal children who are not participating or coping in mainstream primary schools as a result of domestic circumstances.
Option 3 - St Canice’s Sleepout (August) Day student
Raise a minimum $30 for Canice's Kitchen
Solo sleep out in your backyard and participate in the online webinar sessions and challenges
Canice’s Kitchen providing meals daily to men & women experiencing homelessness and social exclusion … a place of connection.


Option 4 - Grocery Donations
Grocery donation for Jesuit Social Services and Jesuit Refugee Service.
Students purchase grocery items from the list of needed goods (InsideView).
Bring in two bags of groceries to the Ignatian Centre (Name and Year Group on each)


Service During Year 9 Challenge
Each student will attend the Cook 4 Good program
Morning: Preparing hot meals for those in need
Afternoon: Rough Edges Urban Walk


Smith Family Student-to-Student Reading program
(Year 9 Day students, max 20)

Aged Care Companion Intergenerational Program
Holidays (Year 9 Day students and/or city boarders)

Smith Family Student-to-student Reading Program
(Year 9 Day boys, Terms 2 & 3)

Reading with peer buddy (Riverview student) to help them with their reading.
Read online with your young buddy twice a week for 15-20 minutes, 18 weeks

Aged Care Companion
Aged Care Companion– Participating in activities with seniors at Bupa Willoughby & St Peters Lane Cove West
3 half days in the April or June Holidays
Also great for Duke of Ed hours

Steps to completing your 2025 Service
Steps to complete the 2025 Ignatian Service Program include:
1. Students select minimum of two experiences and complete or sign up by Week 10, Term 3.
2. Once ALL service completed, this is logged for you by the Ignatian Centre show on your InsideView Service Record.
3. Students will complete a Year 8 & 9 Service Reflection later in the year.



Selecting your service options
✔ Some Options available NOW, others you will be emailed closer to their date
✔ Consider your availability –sports training, drama, musical
✔ Get your service done as early as possible in the year
✔ Additional service strongly encouraged and will be logged
✔ Look out for emails this week SF and Swim


Duke of Ed – Year 9s
You need 13 hours of service for Bronze Duke of Ed.
You can get some or all your hours through the Ignatian Service program: Smith Family Student-to-Student Reading program (can be all your DofE hours, if completed) OR Mix of service activities 2 x service activities, i.e grocery donation and Balmoral Swim for Cancer
Aged Care Companion 3 afternoons Cook for Good on Yr 9 challenge
