THE PROGRAM :
The pandemic has changed our world views in many different ways in all sectors of life. Our needs have changed and we perceive housing in a very different way.
The advent of the work from home culture, the social, emotional and health issues thrown up thereby have led to a paradigm shift in the way housing will be planned in the coming years. A relook at housing is necessary to fulfill all these evolving needs.
The project is urban housing which is generally set in a dense high-rise con text common to most cities. There will be a combination of different sizes of apartment along with the associated amenities.

THE PROGRAM :
In an era of increased specialization in almost all fields, vocational education and skills devel opment of individuals promises to be the key to accentuate increased productivity. Hence, building a skilled workforce is inevi table, to positively impact economic growth, raise productivity and reduce unemployment. Hence the project aims to evolve a model for some of the highly demanded vocations, through the institute located in the heart of the city.
Under the vocational curriculum, the proposed institute offers various courses such as Driving Training and Motor Mechanics , Carpentry, Steel structure and Fabrication, Laser cutting, Plumbing, Hospitality, Healthcare and Nursing. And facilitates all individual requirements of the courses in the buildings.

2.VOCATINAL INSTITUTE
The site is located in the Dadar area, flanking a central spine of the city. The area holds a historic connection with the industrial movement, through numerous mill land compounds in proximity. Transforming land-uses in the surrounding context makes it imperative to retain the productive ethos of the place as well.

The main focus was to design a stucture that is sustainable, eco nomic and climate responsive. The City is loosing it’s architectural language as the structures today are so rigid and controlled by the concrete walls. The build ing are becoming climate controlling and not climate responsive. Hence, the design focuses on creating a ladmark with keeping in main the climate and the Architectural language of Mumbai.
MATERIALS
Materials also play an important part in climate change. Choosing materials that cause lesser or zero carbon emmicssio nis the best choice we can make.

THE PROGRAM
The site ,Dadar , a lively and bustling neighborhood is located in the south-western part of Mumbai . Due to its central location, Dadar offers good connectivi ty to the rest of the city. The efficient local trains passing through the area connect it to the rest of the city via the Central and Western lines. Furthermore, Dadar is con nected to the other parts of Maharashtra by excellent road connectivity and an efficient public transportation system namely the BEST buses, Dadar Asiad/Shivneri Stand or the Parel ST depot . The upcoming Mumbai Metro 3 will connect Dadar to Colaba, Bandra and SEEPZ. This will further enhance the connectivity by unclogging the traffic making commute easier for the people of the city.
At a distance of 17.6 Km from the site is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The nearest Ferry system lies is in the South Mumbai area of Colaba and Gateway of India.
Situated along the South Western coast , the site is roughly defined by the Tilak Bridge to its north east , Dadar Central and Western Railway Station to its east, El phinstone bridge, Century Bazaar to its south and Shivaji Park to its north west .

EXISTING TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Dadar is a prominent railway terminus on both the Western and Central lines of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Being the only common railway station to both the Central and Western lines, it makes a transit point for many passengers trav eling through Suburban Railway.
