Bluesmission
The Alabama Blues Project’s mission is to promote and preserve blues music as a traditional and contemporary American art form with an emphasis on Alabama. Our goal is to educate, bring attention to and support Alabama blues culture through educational programs, performance, research, educational materials and traveling exhibitions.
Bluescamps
Our afterschool, summertime and school outreach programs for students 8-18 offer a unique opportunity for at-risk youth, serving more than 1,000 students each year. The ABP brings together a diverse mix of children from all walks of life through music education.
Award-winning program
For all skill levels During Blues Camp, beginner and intermediate students learn to play their choice of guitar, drums, harmonica, bass guitar or vocals from a team of professional musicians. Advanced students work towards becoming a stand-alone band and often perform in the community and beyond. The camp features life skills, blues history and guest artist components.
