Continuous Improvement

The EPP regularly, systematically, and continuously assesses performance against its goals and relevant standards, tracks results over time, documents modifications and/or innovations and their effects on EPP outcomes.

Key activities in this process are the annual college-wide assessment days. Each semester, the EPP holds a daylong event to review assessment data at both the program and EPP levels. Previous events include: Fall 2021 – Accreditation Countdown Spring 2021 – Data Dive Fall 2020 – Data for Diversity Spring 2020 – Data, Donuts, and Demographics Fall 2019 – Artful Assessment Fall 2018 – Data Quest

Data from the CAEP Annual Reporting Measures are readily available to all stakeholders on the SHSU website, at this location: Annual Reporting Measures

The College of Education Assessment Committee meets monthly to discuss, plan, and document modifications to the assessment system. The EPP engages with external technical support providers to continuously assess and improve performance. A recent activity in this area was the Teacher Preparation Inspection, undergone in XXX and resulting in an improvement plan (ITP) which the EPP regularly reviews for progress with the support of the US PREP technical assistance provider. The ITP can be found here: SHSU ITP and as Appendix A at the end of this handbook.
