AT SHOOTERS HILL SIXTH FORM COLLEGE
T-Levels are a brand new qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want They follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels.
The 2-year T-Level qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with employers and businesses. You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.
Your T-Level will help you to step straight into your chosen career, an apprenticeship or a degree. Wherever your future is heading, take it to the next level.
DIGITAL PRODUCTION, DESIGN& DEVELOPMENT
This course is intended for students who want to progress to a career in the Digital sector; with a focus on software design and development.
The purpose of this course is to ensure students have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher education, within the specialist area of software design and development.
At the end of this course, students will have gained the core knowledge and skills related to software design and development and will be well placed to develop full occupational competence with additional development and support once in employment in the digital sector.

This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in early years education, childcare or assisting teaching.
All students will develop an understanding of: the Education and Early Years sector from ages 0 to 19 - as well as the principles of safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing.

WHAT ARE A-LEVELS?
An A-Level is an advanced qualification offered across a range of subjects, typically accessible to school leavers (students aged 16 to 18). The programme is a 2-year course taught similarly to your GCSEs, with your final grades obtained from your final exams which take place at the end of the two years. Whilst subjects are mostly exam-based, some A-Level options, such as Art or Science, require you to complete coursework or controlled assessments during the year which will count towards your final grade.

A vocational course is a practical-based qualification that allows you to gain hands-on experience. They are made up of a number of different units that are assessed throughout the year with coursework and assignments.

As a student here at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College, you will get real hands on experience! Our Level 1 students prepare, cook and serve lunch every day for the Cafeteria. Students progressing to Level 2 specialise in a range of kitchen skills while working in our City View Restaurant- both in the kitchen and working front of house.
Students on the Level 3 course work one evening a week preparing and cooking for our Fine Dining evening, and will also have a one day a week work placement. 35

Sport at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is specifically designed for those interested in future employment within the ever-growing sports industry – Coaching, Physiotherapy and Leadership are the three main skills gained and explored on this programme.
Public Services encompass services such as the army, ambulance, fire and police services. You will learn how services operate from a ground level, as well as additional skills like first aid, leadership and situation control.
Among many things, you can look forward to exciting trips and talks from specialists, all of which will encourage independent learning and strong links with prospective employers in the local community. Joining one of our courses will be challenging, yet ultimately rewarding.

City View Restaurant is our fine dining restaurant where the food is prepared by advanced catering students, supervised and guided by professional chefs from the hospitality industry. City View is open to the public on Thursdays for fine dining.
We are equipped with a fully functional Hair & Beauty Salon, allowing our Hair & Beauty students to get a practical and hands-on experience, providing services to members of the public. Check out our available services online!
The Coffee Corner is our little slice of relaxation, staff, students and visitors come here to unwind and recharge throughout the day. Whether it's a business meeting or a catch-up with a friend, it's always nice over a tea, coffee or hot chocolate!

The Bamboo Cafe is one of the places students can get lunch on site. We also have an app for both staff and students to use, allowing you to browse the week's menu in advance- and also to order food for collection.
The Academic Learning Zone is one of the many study spaces our students have access to on site. This space is equipped with computers, academic libraries and a bank of laptops for students to borrow, free of charge.
We've installed a brand new Gaming arcade - equipped with both retro and modern equipment. Gaming students will learn about the mechanics and history of these cabinets.- All students are welcome to try out our arcade machines and VR headsets!

We have four fully equipped outdoor tennis courts on campus for students to use. Whether it's for an enrichment session, or just a friendly lunch-time game - these courts are one of the many places our students can get fit and have fun!
Our indoor Sports Hall has played host to a range of home games for the Wapping Wildcats
Volleyball and Dynamic Coaching Basketball academies, which our students are welcome to spectate. Students will also use this space for enrichment sessions.
