To be an innovative, inspirational and inclusive college delivering high quality education and training, we need our staff, as individuals, to keep up to date with rapidly changing knowledge and the challenges of an ever changing world.

Staff need to be able to maintain, develop and enhance their skills and competence both professionally and personally to develop into truly inspirational and inclusionist practitioners, to enable our students to develop a set of skills and knowledge that prepares them for future learning, the workplace and to play a leading role in future industry and growth.

CPD PRIORITIES

Contribute to further improving the quality of teaching, learning, tutoring and assessment across the College through well targeted learning and professional development programmes and effective support to managers, to enable a high quality student experience that enables personal growth, development and the confidence to achieve their ambitions.

Increase the capacity of managers at all levels to successfully lead change and build a resilient workforce to ensure development of high-performing staff and accountability to manage their career and professional development.

Increase opportunities for teaching staff to further develop industry standard practice to enable the effective delivery of technical education.

Establish a 'quality first teaching' approach to all learning to ensure all staff become 'inclusionists' ensuring high expectations and aspirations, support and challenge for all.

CPD PRINCIPLES

CPD is a planned process Individual staff are responsible for determining what they need to learn, and for managing and undertaking their own CPD activity.

Managers are responsible for encouraging and supporting staff, and providing feedback, as appropriate.

Professional development is a continuing process of assessment, analysis, action, reflection and review.

Learning objectives should be based on clear identifiable outcomes, and serve organisational as well as individual goals.

CPD OVERVIEW - ALL STAFF In the main this will be planned for Wednesday afternoons in period 3, cross college CPD will happen as a maximum every other week with time given to individual departments to focus on their identified CPD. Inclusive Learning staff training will be on a Tuesday afternoon.
