The relics of a city formerly planned with cars in mind will become guiding elements of the blue-green infrastructure. There is an opportunity to answer essential questions about the Future of the city of Berlin in an exemplary way with concepts for the transformation of the former traffic route into a new type of green corridor. The central theme here is adaptation strategies to climate change. On a superordinate level, the entire route to the a 104 between the a 100 and the a 103is to be worked on at a scale of 1:5,000. It is to be examined how the new open space band can be integrated into the network of existing spatial structures and cycle and footpath connections. Sensible connections between tvvvhe climate compensation areas are to be created and potentials that promote biodiversity such as biotope networks are to be taken into account.

Berlin is home to several species of oak trees, including the English oak, the pedunculate oak, and the sessile oak. Beech trees are also common in Berlin, and can be found in many of the city’s parks and forests. The linden tree is a symbol of Berlin, and can be found throughout the city, particularly in older neighbourhoods. Spruce trees are commonly found in the city’s forests, and are an important part of the city’s ecosystem. Berlin is home to a wide variety of bird species, including crows, pigeons, sparrows, and seagulls. Berlin is also home to a thriving population of deer, which can be found in the city’s parks and forests. Foxes are common in Berlin, and can often be seen in the city’s parks and green spaces. Badgers can be found in the city’s forests and green spaces, where they live in burrows.

Redesigning the waterfront and Wilhelmstraße Site Design 1 Semester 1 PROJECT DATA Type Location Instructors

The main objective of this project is to increase the level of awareness and make the space more lively. Increasing the quality of stay and thus frequency. Reducing vacant spaces an increasing shopping spots The street is renowned for its historical architecture and beautiful landscape features that create a delightful and inviting atmosphere The landscape of Wilhelmstraße is characterized by its tree-lined sidewalks, adorned with ornamental trees, shrubs, and colorful flowers. The vegetation provides shade, while the vibrant colors add a lively touch to the street’s ambiance. The street also features a central median strip that is decorated with an array of flowers and ornamental grasses, creating a beautiful contrast against the surrounding buildings. Benches are thoughtfully placed throughout the street, offering visitors an opportunity to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings.

The Lighthouse has a significant impact on the streetscape along Goubert Avenue. The fluted tapering tower standing tall at a height of 29 miles, this structure was originally built on a square base with a room for a watchman and an inner staircase leading to the top where the light was placed. The light was visible to a distance of 15 to 17 miles. The ground floor circular building was added in 1886, probably when the light was changed.

The upper storey was added during mid 20 th century. The Lighthouse was probably the first of it s kind to be built along the Coramandel Coast. This building is a landmark that enjoys a prime location along Goubert Avenue. It forms a part of an ensemble of important buildings such as the Marie, Custom House, and the French Consulate to name a few.

The lighthouse has a significant impact on the streetscape along Goubert Avenue. The light was visible to a distance of 15 to 17 miles. The structure is crowned by a copper dome and has two storied base to reduce the wind pressure. The ground floor circular building was added in 1886, probably when the light was changed the upper storey was added during the mid 20 th century.

Construction Technology It is observed that the wall morphology is not uniform throughout the structure. Brickwork in mud mortar is noticed in the original outer chamber, around the circular tower and the new additions surrounding the original structure. A number of window and door openings of the original structure have been sealed off with brickwork in cement mortar.On the whole, the condition of the structure is fair, with deterioration that is localized and limited to heavy corrosion of he metal structural and non -structural components at the top of the structure and timber strucutre elements.There was some deterioration in the masonry, exterior facade , particularly on the east facing die to erosive effect of salt laden winds from the sea and moisture trapped below the projection.
