TULUG OSAKA EXPO 2025 PAVILLION - ETHIOPIA
Project Type: Expo pavillion design Quarter : Fall Quarter , 2022
Site Location : Osaka Expo site , Japan
Brief : The brief required a pavilion designed for the country Ethiopia for the upcoming Osaka Expo 2025 in Japan.
DESIGN
The design process started with a research into the culture of the Ethiopia and what would the people of Ethiopia wish to represent with their pavilion. This lead to the pavilion called Tugul which is a green living lab pavilion that highlights the goal of a future of food stability and unity for the people of Ethiopia. The pavilion draws inspiration from the traditional bamboo weaved huts of Ethiopia and incorporates this technique with modern geodesic domes. The structure explores underground green houses to create the ideal environment to showcase the unique vegetation of Ethiopia.

Brief : Final Thesis
Over 1 million children are incarcerated worldwide. The United States of America takes the lead. Children are vulnerable to deprivation of liberty and the right to justice. Juvenile justice in the United States refers to a group of state and local court-based systems created to help young people who come into contact with law enforcement and are accused of breaching the law.
This thesis will propose a new architectural typology to enhance the Juvenile Justice System toward rehabilitating and positively influencing the youth. It will propose a focused design proposal that will design a Holistic Juvenile Development Center which will cater to three aspects: Educational and Vocational Facilities for juveniles, Therapeutic Healing Spaces, and Safe Housing for juveniles.

/ OIKOS
TIMBER MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT
Project Type :Residential / Mixed-use Development
Quarter : Spring Quarter , 2022
Site Location : Atlanta, Georgia
Brief : Timber in the city - The brief required a study of wood and design a residential and mixed use development.
Oikos is Greek for Family home. Midtown Atlanta currently stands at rank 10th among the best neighborhoods in the city. It has all the potential to reach rank 1. Its major drawback - It doesn’t cater to families. Oikos aims to bridge this gap in the neighborhood. The residential tower consists of four apartment unit typologies - Studio, One bedroom, Two bedroom, Double Storey Apartments. The circulation corridors emulate a front porch and facilitate interactions between residents. The balconies have more depth to make them functional for families. The tower has gathering spaces and communal spaces on the third floor. It provides a safe space for the kids and teenagers to interact and fosters a sense of community.
