ShrevePride?
ShrevePride is the community organization behind some of our region’s most notable LGBTQIA+ events, including the unique teambuilding experience, Field Gay, and Northwest Louisiana’s largest Pride Month celebration, Shreveport Q-Prom! ShrevePride’s goal is to make Shreveport and Northwest Louisiana a more inclusive and welcoming place to live in, play in, and invest in.
With financial commitments from sponsors and community members, we have found increasing success year over year in creating new spaces for people, businesses, and community leadership to build authentic relationships with one another no matter their race, religion, sexuality, or gender identity.
Who are we?
ShrevePride, which was founded in 2019, is a community organization based in Shreveport, Louisiana made up of seasoned event planners and community leaders as well as a base of enthusiastic volunteers who want to see our city become a more inclusive and holistic community.
Through our successes, the ShrevePride group has found itself uniquely positioned to be at the forefront of developing innovative programming that not only meets the needs of our city, but of the surrounding Ark-La-Tex region. Our aim is that when people look at Shreveport, they can see a beacon of hope and opportunity and want to be a part of what is being built.
Shreveport Q-Prom
June 2024
Our flagship event, Shreveport Q-Prom, was first envisioned as a second-chance prom for the LGBTQIA+ community. Now in its sixth year, Q-Prom has evolved beyond its prom roots into a dazzling experience that incorporates elevated theming, art exhibitions, and multimedia installations on top of the traditional trappings of prom such as dance spaces, live music, and photo opportunities.
Q-Prom is also Shreveport’s largest Pride Month celebration, and is recognized as a regional tourist attraction with attendees traveling in from across the Ark-La-Tex to participate.
ShrevePride also offers scholarship opportunities to wave the ticket price for those who would not otherwise be able to attend Q-Prom which allows this amazing event to be not only welcoming, but accessible as well.
