Dear Shoreline, Our hearts are overflowing with the joy that it is to bring the life changing love of Jesus into the sea of hurting humanity.

We are not satisfied with the reach of the shallow, we have a vision to go beyond the shoreline into the deep blue ocean…

Roughly 15% of people in the Austin metroplex know about the beauty of God’s grace. While we are grateful for that 15%, it is obvious that our job is not done. We want to go deeper.

The sea can be rough and unpredictable often leaving it’s victims desperate and lost. We are the hands and feet of Jesus, together we make up the lighthouse that will help navigate the hurting back to shore. Jesus is challenging us to go to the highways and the byways, to step outside of our ordinary and see the one and bring them back to Him. Never before in history has the world been THIS READY, we are READY. John 21:6 says “cast your net… and ye shall find.” When you truly encounter Jesus, it’s no longer possible to sit idly by. Let’s roll up our sleeves. Let’s cast our net. Let’s go into the blue.

Making a Difference Every single week we minister to thousands of people on our campuses. This year alone we have had over 649 people be baptized, and approximately 2,340 people have committed their hearts to Jesus. Hundreds of small groups met to create opportunities for life giving community. We have children’s programs and youth programs every single Sunday. This last summer we had hundreds of young people attend our KidCon, YouthCon and More Like Jesus Conference. We have had the privilege to partner with a great deal of world changing organizations both globally and in our very own Austin community. We are supporting crisis pregnancy centers, sex trafficking victims, food banks, programs for at risk youth, homeless ministries with Church Under the Bridge, community events, disaster relief programs and many more. Our services are now streaming into the prison system and we have just reached over 1,000,000 views with God Behind Bars!! It is amazing to see the life change in these individuals and to hear some of the stories of those who have served their time and are now re-entering society with a passion for Jesus! In 2022, we were able to raise over $200,000 dollars to provide relief to those affected by the war in Ukraine as Shoreline Poland became a place for refugees to find safety. We have built wells in Kenya to provide clean water to entire villages and have supported Danita’s Children in Haiti as they build new medical centers and provide education and a home for hundreds of kids in Haiti. As we reflect on all God has been able to do through Shoreline and your giving, we are blown away at the goodness of our God and how we have been able to be a part of reaching those in need.

Global We are dedicated to bringing hope and healing to people around the world. With your help, we have been able to go into the deep blue oceans and reach people of every age, stage, and background for Christ. See how you play a key role in being the hands and feet of Jesus – bringing relief and restoration to those who need it most through our ongoing global outreach initiatives.

CMI-Coates Kenya Through our partnership with Coates Ministries, we were able to provide resources that went towards building a well. Today, this well provides ongoing access to clean drinking water for several tribes in Kenya. But the most exciting news is that over 300 churches have been started amongst the Turkana tribe whom until now, have never heard the gospel.

Danita’s Children - Haiti In 2019, we helped to build a state of the art surgical unit at the Danita’s Medical Center. This surgical unit would end up being the top ranked facility in all of Haiiti. But we didn’t stop there!

Thanks to you, in 2023 Danita’s opened up their Neonatal Unit which meets a critical need for the most vulnerable children in one of Haiti’s most populated cities. From Caleb Houses, to food assistance programs, and access to education, we have helped Danita’s staff rescue, love, and care for orphans and impoverished children for more than a decade.

Shoreline Poland In the last few years, we contributed more than $200,000 in emergency relief aid. Our Shoreline Poland family has been able to share the love of Christ with thousands of displaced Ukrainian refugees. Additionally, your giving helped to construct the Caleb Club House, which provides a home for children whose parents are struggling with addiction and also who have chosen life over abortion, but cannot care for their children.

Local Waters We take “Love thy neighbor” seriously! We believe local outreach is the heartbeat of a thriving community and aim to meet people right where they are. Together, we have loved the Austin Metroplex by serving people in their seasons of struggle through a variety of local outreach initiatives and projects.

“For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat....”- Isaiah 25:4

Youth In the City Youth In The City is a monthly outreach initiative for Shoreline’s youth students and youth leaders. South Youth Directors, Kevin and Ashley Wickham, started Youth In The City in 2020 with a desire to see youth students out in the community serving those in need. Every month students are given the opportunity to go out beyond the walls of the church and towards the hurting and lost people in the communities that we live in.

Over the last three years, Youth In The City has served the unhoused, prepared meals at a soup kitchen, helped those affected by disasters, played games with residents of an assisted living facility, beautified parts of the city through trash and graffiti clean up and so much more. Our hope is that Youth In The City will continue to grow and many more lives will be changed by the love of Christ.

Central Texas Food Bank Last year, the Central Texas food bank donated nearly 54 million meals to hungry families right here in our community.

By collecting, serving, donating, and opening up our campus as a distribution center, Shoreline has helped put good food within reach of Austin families in need.

The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF) Since 2018, we have partnered with The Other Ones Foundation to support people experiencing homelessness in Austin. Our goal, along with TOOF, is to invite our unhoused neighbors into community. TOOF offers a range of services including humanitarian aid, case management, and extremely low-barrier employment opportunities in an effort to build better and stronger communities.

The Source The Source supports, cares for, and equips women by providing high-quality, whole-person health services.

By collaborating with The Source, we help make it possible for every woman in Texas to have access to comprehensive, life-affirming reproductive health and pregnancy care.

Shoreline Behind Bars Shoreline Behind Bars first launched in the beginning of 2022 as an initiative of Into the Blue campaign. We partner with God Behind Bars to provide tablets in prisons across the nation, and every tablet comes with the Pando app. Every week, we upload Shoreline services, messages and worship to this app. In the last two years, we have seen an incredible growth and impact on this platform. We recently surpassed 1 million views, now have nearly 10,000 subscribers, and have consistently seen our videos enter the top ten on the app and in lists of featured videos. Beyond views, we have seen lives change. To date, we have had 732 salvations through the Pando app. Several of whom have joined our congregation in person since being released from prison.

We are thrilled by the impact we have made since launching Shoreline Behind Bars, but we know that this is just the beginning!

And thank you for reaching out to me, and to God for staying with me through it all. I know that He will never leave me.”

Christopher attended Shoreline prior to being incarcerated. He received his first tablet with the Pando app 1 1/2 years ago. He has found so much joy in being able to continue his connection to Shoreline through the Pando App. Staying part of the Shoreline family through Shoreline Behind Bars is the best reminder that this He is loved by God and will have a home to return to one day soon!

Jenn’s Story The pandemic of 2020 changed just about everything. Ministry was no exception as churches scrambled worldwide to bring solutions for getting services to churchgoers in their homes. God Behind Bars, who was already working on ways to get inmates to church, or more accurately - church to inmates, made the bold move to partner with churches to put tablets in the hands of the incarcerated with the purpose of giving them access to the Pando App - a platform full of on-demand church services, devotionals, and God’s word. My son had already been behind bars for 6 years and tablets weren’t even approved for the state of Texas, but I knew his story was just one of thousands upon thousands.

Across America there were men and women that could benefit from getting to hear the message of grace that Shoreline offers. I presented a proposal to Pastor Rob, expecting to hear “no”. It’s a lot to ask to partner with an organization to reach people whose faces you might never see, people who have long since been forgotten or rejected by the outside world. But the answer was yes! We just needed a way to fund the partnership. This is where Into

the Blue came in - we needed the generosity of the body of Christ to reach into the dark and hopeless prisons to bring the message of Jesus right into the hands of the inmates.

By the time we had everything in place to start posting our messages to the Pando app, Texas had approved tablets for the inmates here and wouldn’t you know it, my son’s unit was 2nd in line for distribution. It was nothing short of a miracle. At last, he could watch services every single week from the church he calls home, along with thousands of other inmates all across the country. The year my son went to prison I asked God to do something so big with his situation that people would talk about it. It started as a selfish prayer, honestly, but God saw fit to make good on it anyway.

Since launching Shoreline services on tablets a little over a year ago, we have reached 1 million views and 732 men and women have found hope and salvation in Shoreline’s messages of the Jesus who hasn’t forgotten them and loves them so much. The Lord took the prayers of a mom on a mission and went above and beyond all I could have asked or imagined. I believe with my whole heart that heaven will be a little bit fuller because of Shoreline Behind Bars.

Shoreline Stories

Even though I grew up just down the street in Wells Branch, I had never been to Shoreline Church. In 2015, I began working at Shoreline Learning Center, and fell in love with their program and passion for early childhood!

During that first year of teaching, I unfortunately went through a difficult divorce. While this was taking place, I also began to get connected with the KIDS ministry at Shoreline. Pastor Ken invited me to begin helping on Sunday mornings and I got to know the Family Ministries team! Over time, I began to serve every Sunday in KIDS ministry and started attending church at Shoreline. I eventually transitioned from the Learning Center to the KIDS ministry staff. Slowly, I found myself smiling again and coming back to life. I found healing. I found friends & community. I met the wonderful man who is now my husband, and we just welcomed our beautiful daughter, Marcie, into the world! My life was changed.

I have always been passionate about serving others and social justice. So much so, that in 2018 I challenged myself to apply to The University of Texas for my degree in Social Work and was accepted! For my final semester, I was placed at The Esperanza Community in South East Austin with an agency called The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF). TOOF is an organization that works with Austin’s unhoused population. I realized how much I could make a difference through this agency and their mission. When the opportunity to take a position with TOOF full-time arose in 2021, I made the transition from full-time ministry to full-time social work!

Today, I manage the Community Engagement Program at The Other Ones Foundation, and have helped Shoreline to partner with TOOF as we serve the unhoused population in the greater Austin Metroplex.

The vision of Shoreline is to help people know God, find life, and make a difference, and I can truly say I am a walking example of this.

It all began some years ago around several campfire discussions on a short term missions trip in Botswana, Africa. The framework for a ministry to new Christians was conceptualized with a great friend, Pastor Sam Mata. In the ensuing months, a classroom study for about a dozen people was established, with more than 1,000 people eventually attending that class over the years.

In early 2013, I began exploring ways to substantially expand the impact of the study beyond the classroom, and formulated the foundations of what has now become Twenty20 Faith, an organization uniquely blending exceptional Christian devotional content and digital technology platforms to help Christians all over the world find lasting clarity and a lifetime of sustained growth in their walk with God. Twenty20 Faith was founded as a non-profit in 2018. Because of God’s blessing, our programs are available in over 35 languages, with a global readership of 2 Million. Since our founding in 2018, more than 5,500 people have given their life to Christ around the world.

The reason I love serving in the church is because I’ve found a place where I can use my gifts to honor the Lord. When I first came to Shoreline I was afraid that I wouldn’t fit in anywhere.

Then, I got introduced to the worship team and played a few services. After I gave my life to God, I reached deeper into Shoreline’s community and honed my craft of drumming and it still benefits me to this day. Now, I’m a team lead and get to help train up new creative team members and run Sunday services at our South campus.

Twenty years ago, my friend Darlene invited me to attend the Shine Women’s Conference and I said, “no thank you!” The following year she not only invited me but she also bought my ticket. She didn’t give me opportunity to say no this time.

I am so thankful that she didn’t give up on inviting me because her investment in me forever changed my life. I met Jesus that night and was finally open to going to church with my daughter, who had been asking for years. Now, I serve as the South Sisterhood leader and get to do ministry alongside my children, and it’s the most rewarding feeling in the world!

What ITB is funding

Besides helping us to resource all the ministries of Shoreline, this year’s Into The Blue offering will also help us continue to make an impact both locally and globally for the Kingdom. We are so excited to continue our partnership with God Behind Bars and getting the message of God’s amazing grace into the prisons through our online services. We believe our South Campus is one of the best kept secrets in south Austin, and we want to raise awareness through new signage and targeted advertising to welcome the south side of our city to Shoreline. We are excited to expand our reach by re-launching our Hutto campus in 2024. Globally, we will be partnering with Shoreline Poland as they also have major upgrades they will be doing to their facilities to reach their city and beyond. We will also be partnering with Danita’s Children in Haiti as they renovate their facilities to continue serving the next generation in Haiti.

In 1998 we took a step of faith and built a 5000 seat sanctuaryfor our growing church. For the last 25 years Shoreline Church has been reaching thousands of people each week at our North Campus on Shoreline Drive. We have had men, women, kids, grandmas, businessmen, governors, hair dressers, actors, missionaries, car mechanics and so many more people come to worship, to celebrate, to repent, to heal and to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

It is has been nothing short of a miracle to see all that God has done inside the walls of this building and we know there is so much more He will do.

REFRESH is a project that is driven by our desire to create life giving, accessible, visible, and engaging worship spaces across the Austin Metroplex that reflects our passionate commitment to share the matchless message of God’s amazing grace.

We believe these changes and updates in our facility will benefit our congregation, help us better serve our community, and reach the next generation for Jesus.

Hunter Nguyen

Whether you’ve seen him energetically leading worship, skillfully playing multiple instruments, or investing in the next generation as a youth leader, he has been a steadfast presence at Shoreline for over 15 years. From his early days leading worship on the Kids Craze team to being at Youth services every Wednesday night, he has grown, found home, and built community here. As a recent graduate, “the cool” science teacher and coach, Hunter doesn’t just lead; he actively engages, connects, and builds bridges in every interaction. He is a constant presence, always ready to share, care, and guide. Hunter’s story, while remarkable and longer than can be told here, is a testament to the people and church that have supported him, and as he steps out, into the blue, he is making a difference for those within and beyond these walls.
