The Ephrata Public Library, along with other county libraries, will once again be hosting their popular Summer Reading Program with sign-ups starting on Saturday, June 5. Children and tweens can also sign up for GO (Get Outdoors) Lancaster, a program sponsored by WellSpan Health that encourages children to get outdoors and explore local parks. Participants can either sign up in person at their respective libraries to get the traditional summer reading experience
using paper, or they can register online with the Beanstack app and track their reading electronically. Shown in the photo, from left to right, are Penny Talbert, Executive Director; Lauren Fisher, Development Coordinator; and Michaela Purnell, Children’s Librarian. The Summer Reading Program at Ephrata Public Library is full of fun and activities for all ages, including over 150 programs, both in-person and virtual, as well as Grab &
Go activities. All in-person and some online programs require registration, which can be made at the Library’s website, www.ephratapublic library.org. “The Ephrata Public Library is excited to be bringing you many amazing programs this summer,” says Helen Taylor, Public Program & Outreach Manager. “Our theme this year is Tails and Tales, and we’re back in the building and ready to offer the great inperson programming that we’ve had in past years as

Garden Spot Health Council Held International Night Drive-Thru
Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese Students from Garden Spot High Schools Health Council held its annual “Night Around The World” event recently. This year it was a drive-thru event. Students prepared a wide variety of culinary dishes from multiple countries and cultures and then visitors were able to sample the prepared foods. This year’s drive-thru event was so popular that supplies ran short thanks to overwhelming turnout. Shown are Mia Hutchinson, Paxton Beck, Tanner Beck and Theresa Weidemer performing a traditional German dance as cars roll in, and students busy boxing meals for distribution.
