This year churches had to be a little more creative with how they held their Ash Wednesday services. Officially known as the Day of Ashes, it is a day of repentance, when Christians confess their sins and profess

SMOKESTOWN FIRE COMPANY Several local agencies are coming together to provide warm nutritious meals for those staying at the Good Samaritan Services’ winter shelter in Ephrata. For the first time ever, these

agencies are coordinating efforts to ensure that the night shelter guests are receiving a hot meal every time they stay. The shelter hours are 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. every day of the week.
