Christyan Seay is a distinguished graduate of Pennsylvania State University and a resident of Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Seay, a trained vocalist, has performed with prestigious orchestras and ensembles both locally and internationally. In addition to his musical achievements, he is actively involved in community service, serving on the boards of organizations such as the State Street Academy of Music and The Nativity School of Harrisburg. His civic work includes leadership roles in the community, such as serving as the Artistic Director of the Capital Area Music Association (CAMA). PerryLive! features quality musical performances from artists of national and international renown, as well as talented local musicians, and is made possible in part by grant support from The Stabler Foundation. Event tickets for the intimate, salon-style performances are $25 each and are available by calling 717567-7023 or on PCCA’s website at www.perrycountyarts.org. Doors open at 2:30pm, and free parking is available at the nearby Weis Market. Landis House concerts are held on the first floor with an ADA accessible public entrance in the rear courtyard. TIPS TO MAKE A COMPUTER RUN MORE SMOOTHLY
Computers play an important role in daily life. Whether it’s a handheld device like a s smartphone or tablet or a more traditional tool like a desktop or laptop, computers are ubiquitous and vital to life in the 21st century. The daily reliance on computers is one reason why slow ones can be so frustrating. No one wants to miss a work deadline or struggle to read or watch a news story online because of a slow computer, but users know that such scenarios play out every day. Thankfully, slow computers are often easily fixed, and these strategies might help users’ computers run more smoothly. • Uninstall apps you don’t use. Applications use up memory even if they’re not used. Unused apps and other programs also may be updated automatically, leading to computer performance issues that make it hard to do things quickly. Many computers utilize apps that users are unaware of, so it’s important that users familiarize themselves with such programs so they don’t uninstall anything that is necessary for the computer to operate. Once that research has been done, users can then begin to uninstall apps they don’t need or use. • Install more memory. Extra memory can go a long way toward helping a computer run more smoothly and with greater efficiency. Online tutorials on sites such as YouTube can instruct individuals how to install RAM on their laptops or desktops, and this quick and relatively simple January, 2024

Another contributor to poor computer performance is a lagging web browser. If websites are taking longer to load, the culprit could be a full cache, which includes files held as information about your internet browsing and viewing habits. Individuals who use the internet a lot but rarely empty their cache are likely dealing with lagging browsers that have nothing to do with their computers. Computers are different, but in general emptying the cache involves going into the settings of a user’s go-to browser and choosing an option like “empty cache” or “clear browsing data.” If this is what’s behind a computer’s poor performance, users will notice an immediate improvement upon emptying their cache.

• Turn automatic startup off. Many people may notice multiple programs starting up when they restart their computers. Though some of these might be apps users utilize every day, others might be set to start up the moment the computer comes on, even if they’re rarely used. In the latter case, users can adjust the settings on their computers so only those apps they use with great frequency open upon restarting. Users also can improve performance by closing apps and internet tabs once they no longer need them. A slow computer can be incredibly frustrating. But a few simple strategies can help users improve computer performance so machines can run more smoothly.

GOD KNOWS YOUR NAME & HE COUNTS EVERY HAIR ON YOUR HEAD. By Karen O’Reilly / www.scripturalgrace.com/
Right now it is estimated that there are 8 billion people alive on the earth. Now I know why sometimes it feels so crowded! God sees you in that crowd and He knows your name! Not only that but He counts every one of the hairs on your head - Luke 12:7. In a world of 8 billion people it is easy to feel lost and even rejected. But God..... God created us. He knew us before we were born. He knit us together in our mother’s womb. What a miracle that is! God also knew that we could never ever be good or holy enough on our own merit to come into His presence and have fellowship with Him. So God gave up His Son to die for us at Calvary. Jesus took the penalty of our sins on the cross, just so we can know God. God knows your name and He has claimed you as His own. “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1. During Old Testament times, God commissioned the priests to bless Israel and put His name on them. He promised to redeem them if they sought Him. We are so blessed to live in this modern age, knowing that our savior, Jesus paid that ransom for us already to gain God’s blessing too. What does it mean that God knows your name? It is true that God knows your name. God knows me by name too. I like to think that I am special (more so than anyone else in God’s eyes!) But the truth is that God knows each of us by name. You are as important to Him as I am. God counts every one of the hairs on our heads. The Bible also tells us that God knew us before we were even born! That means that you and I matter to God. For God to know us by name means that He chose us on purpose for a purpose. God has good plans for each of us. God’s plan for my life is different from the one He has for your life. But His plans are marvelous and when we partner with God we can set the world on fire for Him! God knows you intimately and has created you with unique gifts that you can bless the world with. You are so important and integral to God’s work here in this lifetime. Did you know that before you were even born, God knew you? God knows everything about us. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the first and the last, the beginning and the ending. God knows your name. Jesus knows your name and the Holy Spirit knows your name too! One of my favorite names of God is El Roi - the God who sees me. This is the name of God that Hagar used when He met her in her misery and desperate situation El Roi sees you in whatever circumstances that you are in right now and He knows your name! Another Hebrew name of Jesus is Yahweh Roi (John 10:11) He is your shepherd guiding you and protecting you. HE KNOWS MY NAME SCRIPTURES: 1. God knows you by name and He redeems you. Isaiah 43:1: “ But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have THE REMEDY
redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. 2. God knows when you sit and rise. Psalm 139:1-4 : “O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. 3. God knew you in the womb. Psalm 139:13 : “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” 4. God knows you and He has good plans for you. Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” 5. God knows you and He promises to instruct and council you with His eye on you! Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” 6. God has prepared amazing things for you. 1 Corinthians 2:9: But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”. 7. He knows your name and you are God’s unique workmanship. Ephesians 2:10: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” 8. God knows your name and He desires to adopt you! Ephesians 1:4-5: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” 9. God knows your heart. 2 Chronicles 16:9: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. “ 10. God knows your name and He wants you to abide in Him. John 15:1-9: “ I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.” 11.God knows how many hairs are on your head! Luke 12:7: “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
