As seen every year, the students org strenuously try to make the event bi and more memorable than previou go down in history as ‘The Breeze Again, as usual, strenuous attempts unnamed ‘entrepreneurs’ to smugg and other less benign substances them and their clients to a ‘Hig thought and experience. Many su aground at the main gate and othe Needless to say, some did get onto campus and into students determined to attempt levitation, leading to a few crash landings

Having fun and having a good time is wonderful, as long as it is not at the cost of others and doesn’t endanger anyone Such wisdom, not being subscribed to by a few led to Campus Security and DSA doing overtime. Of course this was only to be expected, as was the clipping of wings that inevitably follows shenanigans.

While campus owls hooted and hunted apace, it was inspiring to see some people, who had gazed at celestial constellations from the prone in previous editions of Breeze, enjoying themselves in a healthy way, in their best senses, this time. How you have grown, dear friends, and how happy we are to see it!

February also saw a change in seasons, as winter receded rapidly, earlier than usual. The campus is filled with colourful blooms and a delight to see at this time of year.

Our new Student Council has hit the ground running and are champing at the bit to fulfil their manifesto promises.

Several sports teams participated in local tournaments and brought laurels to the University Kudos to all the athletes and their coaches. Turn the page to read about their achievements and other happenings on campus!

SNUPHORIA MIDNIGHTMEMORIES

The campus came alive with nostalgia and music at Midnight Memories, an evening dedicated to reliving the magic of One Direction. From the electrifying beats of What Makes You Beautiful to the heartfelt lyrics of Story of My Life, the event brought together fans for a night of pure joy and shared memories Designed to create a lively and welcoming space where students could reconnect with the songs that defined their childhood, the event turned out to be a resounding success. With enthusiastic participation, live music, and an atmosphere filled with excitement, Midnight Memories proved to be an unforgettable experience for everyone who attended

E-CELL UNONIGHT

E-Cell’s UNO Night turned a classic game into an exhilarating challenge, blending strategy, unpredictability, and an entrepreneurial twist. Just like the dynamic world of business, this wasn’t an ordinary game of UNO participants had to navigate innovative rules and two new game-changing cards, Market Forecast and Risk Factor, which added unexpected twists to the gameplay Designed to foster strategic thinking, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial mindset, the event saw an incredible turnout of over 50 teams, with both Duos and Lone Wolves from various university departments competing for victory. With a buzzing atmosphere, high stakes, and a ₹4000 prize pool on the line, UNO Night proved to be a thrilling and unforgettable experience for all who dared to play

GDSC debugGO

Bringing something bigger and better, debugGO offered students a unique opportunity to dive into Go development with firsthand guidance from professionals at Gofr, a company specializing in the language. More than just a workshop, this session connected students with industry experts, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience. Participants gained practical knowledge, received expert mentorship, and even had the chance to grab exclusive merch. With the added possibility of securing a PPO opportunity, debugGO was an unmissable event for aspiring developers eager to level up their skills.

KALAKRITI TOTE-ALLYCREATIVE

Welcoming the new year with creativity and color, Kalakriti marked their first university-wide event of the year, bringing together students for a relaxing and engaging tote bag painting session. With all materials tote bags, paints, and brushes provided, participants let their inner artists shine, transforming blank canvases into personalized masterpieces. The event fostered a vibrant and stress-free environment, encouraging self-expression and creativity Best of all, each student got to take home their unique creation, making it a memorable start to the month.

HIGHLIGHTSFROM METANOIA

Metanoia, The Mental Health Club of SNIoE, successfully planned two significant events this month to encourage students' self-expression, mindfulness, and mental health.

An event was done in collaboration with Be Good Tribe, that emphasised the importance of gratitude and mindfulness in daily life. Through guided exercises and open discussions, participants explored ways to cultivate optimism, manage stress, and appreciate life’s simple joys. To encourage self-reflection, an interactive board was set up where attendees could share how they felt about themselves that day There was a kaleidoscope photo booth, allowing participants to see themselves from new perspectives, and stickers were handed out as small reminders of appreciation and kindness. The event created a safe, uplifting space for students to reconnect with themselves and embrace mindfulness in a fun and meaningful way.

Another event, Clay Art Therapy, provided a creative relief for stress. Participants engaged in hands-on clay modelling, giving expression to their emotions. Working with clay allowed them to relax, unwind, and connect with their inner selves. The session emphasised the healing power of artistic expression and sensory engagement in improving mental health.

Both events saw enthusiastic participation, reinforcing Metanoia’s mission to create accessible, creative, and meaningful wellness initiatives on campus

HIGHLIGHTSFROM CINEU

Last month, CineU hosted a special screening of How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024), directed by Pat Boonnitipat. This heartfelt Thai drama-comedy captivated the audience with its touching exploration of family, love, and morality. What started as a young man's scheme to inherit his grandmother’s fortune soon unraveled into an emotional journey filled with warmth, humor, and unexpected life lessons The screening left attendees moved by its universal themes and compelling storytelling, making for an evening of laughter, tears, and deep reflection.

CineU hosted a screening of Ra.One (2011), directed by Anubhav Sinha. This Bollywood sci-fi spectacle, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Rampal, brought high-tech action and nostalgia to the big screen. With its futuristic battles, stunning visual effects, and pulsating soundtrack, the film delivered an electrifying adventure where gaming and reality collided. Whether attendees loved it, critiqued it, or simply enjoyed the memes, the screening was a night of high-energy entertainment and lively discussions.

MNEMON HISTORYANDARCHAELOGY WEEK

Mnemon and FACTion came together to host an engaging and dynamic History Quiz, challenging students to see history beyond just dates and kings. Participants put their knowledge to the test in a thrilling battle of wits, proving that history is as much about stories, intrigue, and connections as it is about facts With enticing prizes up for grabs, the event saw an enthusiastic turnout, making for a memorable and intellectually stimulating evening.

Think you’re a history buff? Love dramatic showdowns? Always itching to flaunt your knowledge? Well, Mnemon had just the challenge for you! In a thrilling evening of wit, teamwork, and high-energy competition, participants banded together to tackle four lightning-fast rounds, deciphering cryptic clues to uncover historical events But the challenge didn’t end there once the truth was revealed, teams raced through a Takeshi’s Castle-style speed chase, testing both their minds and their mettle. Those who conquered the trials of the legendary sea-witch earned their place in history along with well-deserved treasures for their triumph

Day 3 wrapped up with an event where history met art in the most engaging way Attendees explored significant moments in art history, experimented with creating their own pieces inspired by different historical styles, and put their knowledge to the test in a lively quiz on famous painters and masterpieces. This exciting evening was the perfect way to kickstart the weekend, offering a creative and interactive journey through the world of art

JONESINTHELAB BRUSHSTROKESOFTIME

Have you ever found yourself staring at an artefact, a structure, or even an everyday object, wondering about its origins and purpose? Jones in the Lab, Mnemon’s third edition of its archaeology event, brought participants face-to-face with these questions Designed to explore the methods of mapping, deciphering, and interpretation within archaeology, the event offered a hands-on experience in understanding the material world both past and present. Attendees gained a deeper appreciation for the stories hidden within objects and the techniques used to uncover them, making for an insightful and engaging session

MOVIESCREENING: INGLOURIOUSBASTERDS

As part of their ongoing History and Archaeology Week, Mnemon hosted a thrilling film screening of Inglourious Basterds. History often transcends texts, finding its place in interpretations and bold reimaginings. Tarantino’s cinematic masterpiece offered a gripping alternate take on the Second World War, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats with its high-stakes action, tension, and, of course, dead Nazis The screening sparked engaging discussions on historical fiction, artistic liberties, and the power of storytelling in reshaping our understanding of the past.

DISCUSSION: MNEMONXMYTHIYA

The History and Archaeology Week concluded with a thought-provoking discussion hosted by Mnemon in collaboration with Mythiya. Exploring the fluid boundaries between history and myth, the session delved into how myths and legends emerge from specific social contexts. The discussion examined various examples, shedding light on the evolving narratives that shape cultural memory. Engaging contributions from the audience enriched the conversation, making it a fitting and insightful finale to an intellectually stimulating week

TEDX QISSA

TEDxShivNadarUniversity hosted the much-awaited event, Qissa: The Human Library, bringing together a powerful exchange of personal narratives. Rooted in the belief that every life holds unique stories worth sharing, Qissa provided a judgment-free space where selected speakers our ‘human books’ opened up about their journeys, experiences, and struggles to an engaged audience From tales of resilience, mental health, and cultural exploration to stories of selfdiscovery and triumph, the event fostered deep connections and meaningful conversations. With an option for anonymity, Qissa ensured that every voice was heard, reaffirming the transformative power of storytelling within the university community

Breaking Down Budget 2025: Impact & Insights

In the latest Vittartha session on February 12, 2025, experts and analysts decoded the Union Budget 2025-26, exploring tax reforms, MSME growth, and welfare shifts. Professors Partha Chatterjee, Shabana Mitra, and Iman Mitra provided historical context and insights on key economic policies, including the significance of the gender budget. A detailed presentation by Supriya Hosamane, Shantika V Bhat, and Shubham Tyagi simplified complex budgetary highlights

Sahara India Pariwar’s financial empire, built on unregistered OFCDs, collapsed under SEBI’s scrutiny, impacting millions of investors. In an interactive session on February 5, 2025, speakers Lakshika Middha and Gautami Nair dissected the ₹24,000 crore scam, highlighting Sahara’s unchecked expansion, regulatory violations, and legal consequences, including the promoter’s arrest. The discussion emphasized the importance of financial literacy, investor protection, and regulatory oversight. Attendees gained insights into risk assessment and market transparency, reinforcing the need for due diligence in investments. The session provided a fresh perspective on one of India’s biggest corporate scandals, bridging technical details with real-world implications.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, held its annual Investiture Ceremony on 12th February 2025, marking the formal transition of leadership as the baton was passed from the outgoing Student Council to the newly elected Office Bearers

The event commenced by an address from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ananya Mukherjee, who also administered the oath to the newly appointed council members

The newly appointed Office Bearers are Zafar Habib as President, Easwar Balakrishnan as Vice President, Aditi Mohapatra as Cultural Secretary, and Snehil Konatham as Sports Secretary.

Wishing them all the best as they take on their new roles!

STUDENTCOUNCIL EXECUTIVE CABINET ELECTIONS

The Executive Cabinet elections were held on 19th February 2025. They were preceded by rounds of interviews that were conducted by the newly elected Office Bearers along with the former Office Bearers and Executive Cabinet.

Candidates that made it through the round of interviews now had to participate in a debate on 19th February in front of the Senate and student observers. Each candidate was questioned by the current Office Bearers, former Executive Cabinet, the Senators and some student observers. This allowed the Senate to have a good sense of the candidates and their vision. Post the anonymous voting, the votes were counted and double checked by the new Office Bearers as well as the former Office Bearers in order to ensure authenticity of the counts.

The newly elected Executive Cabinet has hit the ground running, one can't help but look forward to what they will accomplish together. Congratulations to all the newly elected Executive Cabinet members.

DEAN’SLIST FELICITATION CEREMONY

The Dean’s List is a prestigious academic recognition awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance during a given semester. At Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, this honour is reserved for the top 10% of students in their majors, reflecting their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to intellectual excellence.

More than just an accolade, the Dean’s List represents the relentless pursuit of knowledge and the unwavering spirit of curiosity that defines academic success. The Felicitation Ceremony for the same, which was organised on the 20th of Februrary by the Academic Affairs Committee, acknowledged students who have shown exceptional dedication in their coursework, balancing rigorous academic challenges while striving for excellence. However, these achievements are never accomplished in isolation. Behind every student on the Dean’s List is a strong support system mentors, professors, family, and friends who provide encouragement and guidance along the way.

HIGHLIGHTSFROM BREEZE

BREEZE'25 ended with a bang! With a massive external footfall exceeding the past records, the three days of BREEZE were very lively. The 72 hours of BREEZE witnessed a multitude of club and BREEZE events and games from the morning. The evenings were graced with performances of popular artists like Khullar G and Nikhita Gandhi, followed by electrifying performances by artists like DFAQ, DJ Sahil Gulati, and Swattrex. BREEZE'25 was memorable, both for the organizing committee and the attendees!

Blood Donation Camp

Breeze, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Noida, successfully organized a blood donation drive on 4th February 2025 Held in collaboration with Medanta Hospital, the event saw the participation of 18-20 personnel, including doctors and volunteers from both the hospital and the Rotary Club. The drive witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from students and faculty, all coming together for a noble cause, reinforcing the spirit of community service and social responsibility on campus.

BREEZE ACTIVITY

HCL Healthcare conducted a range of engaging and fitnessdriven activities during Breeze to promote overall well-being and active participation.

On Day 1, they organized a Circuit Activity aimed at enhancing cardiovascular health, building a toned and firm physique, and improving overall fitness.

Day 2 featured the "Pass the Ball" game, which promoted balance, coordination, and physical activity, along with the "Jump In Jump Out" game, designed to develop attention, focus, and group unity while ensuring a fun and energetic workout.

On Day 3, participants tested their flexibility and coordination with the "Twister Game," which also encouraged physical activity. Additionally, a Burpees Activity was conducted, providing a full-body calisthenics workout that strengthened both the upper and lower body, improving endurance and muscle strength. Through these well-structured activities, HCL Healthcare successfully infused fitness, fun, and teamwork into Breeze.

Sportikon ‘25

SNU Sports had a commendable showing at the Bennett University Sports Fest (Sportikon 2025), held from February 20-23 2025. The tournament was an impressive sight, with many memorable moments!

SNU Football beat Venky on penalties (with 1 save and 1 miss, very Argentinaesque), a much-awaited victory after repeated losses

SNU Squash steamrolled every team 2-0, with exhibition match-worthy content from Abhay, Meyyappan and Rahul

SNU Athletics hit medal number 135 with this tournament and are now 15 medals away from 150 in two years!

Sarthak had a combined lift (squat + bench + deadlift) of 605 kilos (roughly 10.43 Karans), while Nishant and Aneesh had an impressive total of 480 kilos and 242.5 kilos

SNU Tennis (Women) continue their winning ways, playing 4-hour-long matches in the sun, day after day, clutching another medal for SNU!

SNU Table Tennis (Women) pulled off a comfortable bronze medal victory, but they're fighting and training hard to take out the heavyweight favourites

SNU Badminton (Men) pulled a nearly impossible feat, with a star-studded performance from Shaurya Malhotra to beat the Delhi State Champion! Rishit Khanna blitzed out his matches into victories and Aryaman Gupta became our Clutch Gupta as he won an important third set to take us through the group stage!

SNU Badminton (Men & Women) are now back-to-back medallists in consecutive fests!

SNU Table Tennis, Basketball, and Volleyball may not have made it far in this tournament, but they're on the verge of a breakthrough to return to winning ways!

Competing at the AIU North Zone Chess Championship in Hisar was one filled with challenges, lessons, and moments of sheer determination. Four players represented our university, and while the final standings may not reflect a victory, what the players gained as a team was far more valuable.

For the uninitiated, chess scoring works like this: 1 point for a win, 0 5 for a draw and 0 points for a loss, the total across 4 boards playing simultaneously is added up
