Process of Building Treehouse This treehouse using the fallen timber in Keihoku area that destroyed by typhoon in 2018 summer as the main construction material of treehouse. Is very meaningful and disposal of surplus timbers.

Day 6 The roof is hard to build and sped a lot time, because the rainy weather and the aerial working, only 3 people can climbing up. Other students were doing the decoration board and the bridge construction.

Day 4

The course are having mainly two parts, learning from the village and service on there. We have the lectures, visting and workshop to understand the sustabinable lifestyle and interact with the local, to learn the traditional techniques and cultural. Besides, we having some lumberjack forestry workshop to help cleaning the mountain damaged by typhoon. Building the treehouse and bridge to help build up the music festival facilities. Finally, propose the development toursim to give the ideas of villagers.

Turn the timbers to wooden panel

We separated to three team, wood cutting, building structure and transportation team. We follow the drawing to cut the wooden panel into predicted size. And follow the Asanome san to build, the special thing is we will reserve the gap in the bole for growing in ten year.

Our team has conducted a site visit to Soni-mura for 4 days. It is vitally important for the team to do the construction site investigation and get in touch with the local people. Throughout the trip, we have visited different local workshops and potential travelling hot spots in Soni-mura.

Thus, determining for the design concept details and having a real on-site experience help us to refine the whole tourism package design and information center design.

Souvenir We also design some leaflet, tour map, postcard to promote the workshops and welcome visitor come to information center take.

Community Project Growing Skywalk in the Squatter Huts

Leaf Venation Structure start with the structure design to arrange the roof opening and supportive.

Squatter huts can be considered as the biproduct due to the huge amount of low-income illegal immigrants from Mainland China after World War II. They were built unlawfully with poor living conditions, narrow and winding pathways, creating both safety, fire hazard and hygiene problems and hence giving a negative image to the general public.

According to the legal guidance, squatter huts can only be built with very limited material choices as they are meant for temporary accommodation use. Therefore, squatter huts become the wound of Hong Kong that can never be healed. Thus, this project is to enhance the bonding of community by encouraging the interactions among the villagers, promoting the sense of sustainability and to create a new identity of squatter areas.

Flipping Can be adjusted to the light shedding, air ventilation, heat, and collecting rainwater for recycle use.

Community Project Chung King Bamboo Mutualism Living Style

Chung King Masion is having variety programs , like the hostel, restaurant , shops etc,.

A lot travellers are like to go inside to find the their interest. But the local people are doesn't like going inside. This project purpose to reuse thed Chung King Upper area to rebuild the new style hostel and welcome everyone to explore this cultural space. The taget user is the Over-time Employee,passager and the hostel trallers.

During the day, trallvers will go rooftop hold the free-trade and using the leisure area.

The place is providing the chance to people get interaction.At the night time, the public performance space. busking. cinema and leisure area, for the jet lag trallvers and the people who is active in the night time.

Presentation Board

Drift in Hung Hom Drift can make you transit the area randomly, to find something new and ignored.

The area connected by the flyover, funeral, famous place, Whampoa, and estate. During the day is a busy area, is the intersection of traffic, the endless stream of people will pass. Therefore, there are many shops operating.

There will be different mobile hawkers stall in Whampoa at night.Is different with day and night in Hung Hom. Drift can make me observe more people behavior. Like the people sit in the back alley, how long they will stay?with who? why? This alley connect with where?

Those questions are improving my interest to find out in this urban. Therefore, I want my orientation device can be more diverse to make the orientation.

Studio VI Cave Resting Place In Airport

The resting place is for workers or trailers take rest in the airport. By experience different percentage resting facilities and the lighting effect. Base on our resting research, we find out the sense of security distance, the standard room size by gender and the spatial need in the resting room. Therefore, we design three rooms in our space . Single room(C), couple room (B)and family room(A).

We use the subtractive method to create the room. Also, the subtracted space we called solid room, it creates the peel off skylight to having the smooth indirect lighting for taking rest. People can sit in the light room with the cosy light. The void part for people feel sleepy and need a darker space, people can move to the dark room to sleep.

For the whole space we use the rotating method to design the room location in section. Because we the space will have the balance skylight and the lighting effect will change by the sun path, therefore, the upper part will more brighter and drake in the lower part.

Studio V Octavia City Invisible City

Inspired by City Octavia, the layout of the city, in terms of urban development, the buildings are narrowly cramped together. The resemblance of characters, could be found in Octavia and Hong Kong in todays condition; with dense development and horizontal growing skyline, Hong Kong has been a spiderweb-like city as people can remember.

We concluded the characters in Octavia, and further reference them into the design in this stage; Extracting the existing residential buildings in Hong Kong, a single building could contain units with different purposes such as living, public services and even landscape, just as those could be found in Octavia.

By combining elements and patterns inspired by Octavia from last design stage, we now elaborate the idea of “leveling� in each units, in height we can see the hierarchy and creates fascinating volumes of solid and void spaces.
