We provide exclusive and accredited programs, hands-on learning labs, and real-world experiences to ensure our students thrive well beyond their time at Ship.

In every degree program, you’ll find an emphasis on individual attention, practical applications, and exposure to the latest ideas and methods in your field.

Ship also has a number of specialty programs that allow you to grow, network, and learn on a path that’s unique to you.

Wood Honors College: offers academically talented students enriching undergraduate experiences. Benefits include small class sizes, priority scheduling, an honors residence hall option, special undergraduate research, service learning, and unique study abroad opportunities.

Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC): earn a commission upon graduation. Peace Corps Prep: one of only five Peace Corps Prep programs in Pennsylvania. Study abroad: experience a once in a lifetime adventure.

Undergraduate research: present your work on local, state, and national levels. Collaborate with faculty in their ongoing projects, or even develop your own original research agenda.

Shippensburg University grants Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits based on College Board guidelines. Students who submit official AP or CLEP scores can receive college credit, skip courses they’ve already mastered, and accelerate their degree, saving time and money.

Earn college credits in high school—Ship Start allows area high school students to earn college credits at Ship for a fraction of the price. Eligible students who have completed 10th grade can enroll in Ship Start classes as early as the summer between their sophomore and junior year. Learn more ship.edu/shipstart

Dual Admissions is a free program designed to ensure seamless enrollment from an associate degree program at a community college to a bachelor’s degree program at Shippensburg University. Ship has dual admissions programs with seven community colleges.

Ship is the only state university in PA to offer six ABET accredited programs (the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). The Milton and Doreen Morgan School of Engineering is home to Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Software Engineering.

Ship is the first school in PA’s State System of Higher Education to become internationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

1 of only 3 bachelor’s programs in PA accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC).

Heiges Field House

Home base of Shippensburg University’s basketball, wrestling, volleyball, and swimming teams. The facility is also used for university open houses, winter commencement ceremonies, and events. Recreational swim hours also available.

Seth Grove Stadium

Home field of football, track & field events, and

Old Main

Constructed in the 1870s and once housed the entirety of Shippensburg University, from dorm rooms to classes to dining space. Today, the first three floors of the building contain administrative offices and the Admissions Welcome Center.

ShipRec

The student recreation center offers an indoor elevated track, racquetball, basketball courts, cardio equipment, and free weights.

Academic Quad

The Academic Quad is a hub for campus activity. Here you might find a class that’s moved outdoors, a group of friends enjoying the sunshine, or a playful pup. Students can grab a free sandwich on National Peanut Butter and Jelly day each spring, as the campus comes together to raise awareness about food insecurity and vote to determine the best PB&J combos!

Student Recreation Complex (SRC)

A fully lighted, 12-acre multi-purpose recreational complex—disc golf course, basketball and volleyball courts, street hockey rink, softball fields, and more.

WITH 20 DIVISION II NCAA TEAMS AND 150+ CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS ON CAMPUS, SHIP HAS PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECREATION, COMMUNITY SERVICE, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, FRATERNITY AND SORORITY LIFE, AND MORE.

SUITES (Units B, C, D, E, and F) ■ These buildings feature suite-style living with carpeted living and sleeping areas and are fully furnished. There is one bathroom for every two residents within the living space. Full suites include food prep and living rooms.

COMMUNAL (Unit T) ■ The communal hall provides fully furnished rooms with common bathrooms on the floor (maintained by custodial staff). These are the most cost-effective, on-campus living option.

Both feature FREE LAUNDRY FACILITIES, temperature-controlled rooms (air conditioning and heat), modern TV, common lounge spaces, and common area kitchens for cooking. Your housing costs are all-inclusive and cover electric, WiFi, water, trash, and building maintenance.

Residence halls are co-ed, but individual suites are not. A gender-inclusive housing policy is in place. Visit ship.edu/housing for more information.

Ship provides a variety of academic, personal, and training support services to aid and enhance the development of all student-athletes including, the Kathryn Hughes Seaber Raiders Academic Center and the Raiders Athletics Performance Center.

RAIDER DAY VISITS Offered several days a week and on some Saturdays! Our student ambassadors will show you around our beautiful campus and you’ll end your visit with lunch on us at Reisner Dining Hall. Apply at your visit and we will waive your application fee!

OPEN HOUSES Connect with faculty and current students to ask questions. Explore programs, athletics, life at Ship, scholarships, financial aid, and the application process. We host three open house events in the fall and one in the spring.
