ROARING RIVER SERIES THE THREE STYLES OF ROARING RIVER TWO-HAND RODS The Roaring River Series is designed for the three primary casting techniques used throughout the world: Traditional, Skagit and Scandinavian.
ROARING RIVER GREASED LINE
To address the Traditional style of two-hand casting, our field experts have helped to define the Roaring River Greased Line rods; seven rods ranging from a 14’ #8/9 wt. to a 17’ #10/11 wt. Designed to cast long belly floating or sinking lines using a long casting stroke, this traditional form of spey casting maintains a fi xed line of 65 to 100 feet. These rods allow you to cover water without retrieving or lengthening line on each cast, keeping you less tired and more focused on the prize. These powerful designs use the full bend of the rod, flexing through the mid-section when fully loaded. Greased Line GLX – The Greased Line GLX is crafted with our proprietary GLX graphite along with the finest rod components available today. Featuring Hopkins and Holloway guides and exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles, fitted with a special composite cork end-cap and fore grip. Made with our exclusive offset - oval sculptured barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fly graphic.
ROARING RIVER DREDGER
When you need to get down fast in swift, deep drifts, the new Roaring River Dredger will comfortably manage the sinking tips and weighted flies needed for Skagit style casting. Th is model is designed to throw short to medium belly 38 to 62 ft. lines using the balanced medium casting stoke, refined over time by the northwest steelhead fishermen. Requiring less back cast space than traditional casting, this rod provides excellent distance with some shoot to the cast. Dredger GLX – Th is is the top of the Dredger range, featuring our proprietary GLX graphite along with the finest rod components available today. With nickel titanium recoil guides by REC these cast as slick as they look. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a special composite cork end-cap and fore grip are fitted to our exclusive offset - oval sculptured barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fly graphic.
ROARING RIVER STINGER
Originally targeted at Scandinavian style casters, these rods have also become very popular for use with both Traditional and Skagit lines, particularly for casters looking for fast action rod performance. The taper and power of these rods are perfectly balanced to enable the angler to change lines and casting styles in order to achieve long casts with less effort. With a choice of either 14’ or 15’ models, both will help you generate high line speed and give great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods will also let you make overhead false casts - where back-casting room is sufficient - generating the highest line speed possible. Originally launched in 2004, these two 3 piece rods are now regarded as the benchmark against which other Salmon rods are assessed. Series Stinger GLX Stinger GLX
