The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by SHIMANO’s cold forging technology, without the need for additional machining. This results in gearing parts which retain the characteristics of the pure material, keeping it as strong as possible.

X-SHIP
X-SHIP stands for Extra Smooth & High Power. It is a precision gearing system which enables smooth yet strong reeling. By supporting the pinion gear at both ends and integrating a bigger drive gear with improved positioning, increased gearing efficiency and power is produced. It results in ultra-light handle rotation combined with excellent power efficiency.

HAGANE BODY
HAGANE Body is made out of precision machined aluminium or magnesium. These body designs create stiffness and impact resistance, while at the same time eliminating flexing of the body. The HAGANE Body is highly rigid and protects gear rotation performance from heavy loads and shocks.

The high rigidity makes the reel body very strong, tough and protects the gears and inner workings. At the same time, the body has a low weight and minimal flex, warp or distortion. The result is a rock-solid housing and support for the moving internal gearing and greater efficiency throughout the reel. This helps increase smoothness and powerful reeling.
AR-C SPOOL
AR-C is a spool-lip design technology exclusive to SHIMANO. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations, it has been determined that the AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design, while preventing backlashes and wind knots. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less line slap on the first guide.

The AR-C spool ensures the line leaves the spool with a minimum of friction and with small loops. This makes longer casting possible with a reduced chance of knots.

ELASTICATING TOP KITS
Elasticating a top kit is a crucial skill for pole anglers. Check this step by step guide on how to do it, or check the video for more info.
1. Take a piece of line (0,15mm) and put 4 x number 8 stotz on the line.
5. Thread the elastic through the whole of the top kit.
9. Shorten and cut the length of the elastic to the desired tension.
2. Drop the line with the stots first from the back of section 2 or sidepuller hole to the front and then the same on section 1.
6. Add a bead on the bottom part of the elastic and tie an overhand knot to secure it.
3. Join the 2 sections together with the line through the sections.
4. Connect the elastic at the end/sidepuller part to the line with a sliding
10. Attach your rig to the dacron connector and you are ready to fish.
7. Attach a small bead or dacron connector to the end of the elastic that comes out of the top kit tip.

Shimano AERO X-TIPS are available in either a Small Diameter (SD) or Large Diameter (LD) size, which enables you to customise your setup to suit the conditions you are faced with.
When making your tip choice think about strength of current, the distance you are fishing, and the depth of water. Also take into account the size of fish you are targeting. When fishing for smaller fish, or when the fishing is harder, always choose the lightest, most sensitive tip you can fish with comfortably.
By using the new premium Aero X-Tips you can upgrade and customise your feeder rod to an even higher level. Some people will advise you to buy additional cheaper quivertips as spares but we advise you to do the opposite. The quivertip is vital for good bite registration and casting performance - investing a bit more on this part of your rod will help you catch more fish and is an great return on investment.
