Results With VMI, EPSI and Sherwin-Williams have taken the pressure and worry of downtime away from the customer. Primary benefits included:
50% savings in total freight and supply expenses
20% reduction in operating costs through the elimination of masking supply shortfalls at critical times
EPSI’s VMI program includes a shelving unit and labeled bins provided at no charge for the 30 to 40 different masking products regularly supplied. As new business arrives, Sherwin-Williams ensures that an EPSI VMI Project Manager is on hand to advise on masking techniques and product innovations. These innovations, such as perforated rolls, promote repeatability and quality on the line. EPSI’s 3D Rapid Prototype printing capabilities have been an added bonus. Utilizing prototypes of custom rubber plugs for testing ensures form and fit. This provides the customer with the confidence needed to proceed directly to production, cutting lead times by weeks.

TIPS
Preventative Maintenance Preventative maintenance on all equipment is essential to productivity. Having wear parts in stock can limit costly downtimes and lost production. Preventative maintenance should be daily, weekly and monthly. This would entail checking tips and filters on guns as well as packings and seals on pumps. Spending five minutes a day can save hours of downtime in the future.
