Sheridan County Fair 2025

Page 1

Welcome to the 2025 Sheridan County Fair

On behalf of the Sheridan County Fair Association Board of Directors, I would liketo welcome one and all to attend the annual Sheridan County Fair. It is a pleasure to showcase the skills and the amazing talent of the youth in Sheridan County. We invite you to join us for daily livestock shows and cheer on the amazing talent presented at our County Fair. The Fair has something for everyone including displays of craftsmanship in the areas of crafting, baking, canning, technology, art, photography and so much more. The 4-H and FFA exhibitors will show the animals they have raised and trained this year. The culmination of this week-long endeavor is the annual Buyers’ Dinner and Livestock Sale, held on August 4th. County Fair exhibitors are invited to sell their market animals to the highest bidder; and, all buyers and observers are welcome to attend.

As always, thank you to the many volunteers, participants, parents, judges and especially to our community for the support. Each of you help make this event special and successful every year

The FFA Mission Statement

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

“The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. But FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. For this reason, the name of the organization was updated in 1988 after a vote of national convention delegates to reflect the growing diversity and new opportunities in the industry of agriculture. Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career pathways. So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.” -National FFA, What is FFA?

Sheridan County Youth Livestock Sale

The Sheridan County Youth Market Livestock Sale is the ending for many of the Sheridan County 4-H and FFA members projects. You will see Market Beef, Sheep, Swine, Goats and Feathers & Fur project at the sale on Monday evening August 4th at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. The youth livestock sale is a separate entity put on by volunteers of our community consisting of long time 4-H leaders, business members of the community, Fair board members, former educators and past FFA members. There are requirements to be a part of the youth livestock sale that each exhibitor must complete to be eligible for the sale.

This community is so giving and so supportive and we thank each and every person who continues to come to the sale year after year to support youth in agriculture. There are several purchase options for businesses and individuals or a group of folks, contact Stewart Kincaid 406-679-1035 or Justin West 307-763-2062 for more information. We invite our buyers to the buyers reception starting at 4 pm, Monday August 4th, then head to the sale ring after for the Youth Livestock sale.

Liz Kincaid of Sheridan Media takes center stage, presenting two checks totaling $1,102.78 each to the Sheridan County 4-H kids and the John B. Kendrick FFA Chapter. The contribution is a direct result of Sheridan Media’s commitment, with proceeds derived from the Sheridan County Fair Guide and Fair Show Events. The donation is a testament to Sheridan Media’s support for the flourishing endeavors of these youth groups.
