Accommodation

For residential lettings we offer accommodation across seven boarding houses, with varying room layouts from individual cubicles to 5-bed dormitories.

One house offers dormitories with en-suite bathroom facilities and one has larger, individual rooms.

There is a dormitory cleaning service and linen is provided and changed on a weekly basis.

Towels can be provided but will incur an extra charge.

We offer a high quality, housebased catering service, providing three cooked meals each day plus breaktime snacks.

We can cater for packed lunches or special celebrations as required. We happily adapt menus to cater for dietary requirements such as gluten free and vegetarian/vegan.

The Merritt Centre Acoustic specification In June 2019 we celebrated the opening of The Merritt Centre – an £11m art centre with state-ofthe-art facilities including: • The Gransden Concert Hall • Space for 80-piece Orchestra (65-piece with Choir) • 258 seats (raked seating) • 47 additional ‘pit seats’ available • Additional loose seating (up to 200) available depending on floor space required • AV & sound system with retractable screen (size to be inserted) • An AV Technician can be available on request • 20 music practice rooms equipped with pianos • Recording studio • Rock percussion studio • Social spaces and breakout areas - Upper foyer with seating and café area - Lower foyer with exhibition space • Queenie’s Café – can be opened at various times to suit

The maximum reverberation time is 1.8 seconds which is perfect for rehearsing and recording orchestral performances.

This can be reduced with the assistance of acoustic drapes.

With full deployment of the drapes, the reverberation time reduces to 1.0 seconds which is ideal for the spoken word.
