A Word From the CEO

Between back-to-school, local elections, fall festivals, and familiar community favorites like OysterFest, it’s a season full of movement, milestones, and meaningful moments in Mason County. The energy in our community is reflected in the pages of this issue of Business Matters.

Whether it’s the recap of a full summer of activity, highlights from members and ambassadors, or a look ahead to the future of work, connection is at the heart of it all. You’ll see examples of businesses growing and evolving, leaders stepping up, and neighbors supporting one another.

Tourism continues to play a vital role in our economy. While impacts of the Bear Gulch fire have shifted some visitor patterns, they’ve also shown how adaptable and collaborative our local destinations can be. From our visitor centers to small businesses and outdoor attractions, our partners are committed to ensuring visitors experience the very best of Mason County.

Our beautification efforts also need your support. The Chamber’s flower basket program brings seasonal color and charm to our streets, helping create a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. These baskets are not funded by tax dollars—they rely entirely on community contributions. If you’d like to help keep this tradition blooming, please visit masonchamber.com/beautification. Gifts of any amount are appreciated!

This season also brings a chance to recognize those making a difference. Nominations are open for the Chamber’s Annual Awards, our opportunity to spotlight individuals, businesses, and organizations that go above and beyond. Submitting a nomination is simple and meaningful. Just visit masonchamber.com/nominate to get started.

In times of uncertainty, it’s even more important that we come together. Our community is at its best when we support one another, stay engaged, and look for solutions. The Chamber remains committed to being a steady partner through change, helping businesses adapt, grow, and continue to serve as the backbone of our local economy.

Thank you for continuing to show up, speak up, and invest in this community. I’m proud to work for the Chamber and look forward to what’s next!
