Shelly Craig is a Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator based on the island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Caribbean. Her work is inspired by life on and under the sea—translating the vivid colors, textures, and rhythm of the tropics into expressive artwork and repeat patterns.
Shelly creates hand-painted watercolor and ink illustrations, uplifting hand-lettered phrases, and cohesive surface design collections ideal for art licensing across home décor, stationery, fabric, and athleisure markets. Her current portfolio includes art prints, greeting cards, and pattern collections available for collaboration and licensing.
With a background as a PADI-certified scuba instructor, Shelly’s designs are rooted in authenticity, celebrating coastal living and island adventure. She is actively seeking partnerships with brands who value vibrant, story-driven design and would love to connect.

SALT WATER
As I walk along the shore in the morning the ocean is changing it’s color green, to aquamarine, to blue.
In the evening it changes to pink, to orange, to blue again and it keeps going on.
Shells , I pick them up and hear the swishing sound of the sea. Fishes are popping up and small fishing boats set sail.
I look for smooth pieces of seaglass that come in all colors.
