This year marks the 180th anniversary of Sheldon Bosley Knight after being founded in 1843 by William Bull in the George Hotel, Shipston-on-Stour. It is an incredible honour to be the custodian of a business with such a proud heritage, servicing landowners in our communities.
I write these words from Corner House, just yards from the George Hotel where it all began. Shipston-on-Stour has long been the base of our rural team, which has grown over recent years to incorporate dedicated planning and architecture, strategic land and development, auction and commercial property teams alongside our High Street sales and lettings teams.
More recently, our office network has grown across Coventry and Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Leicestershire and the Cotswolds, serving land and property owners across the region.
This short publication aims to give a little more information about Sheldon Bosley Knight’s various professional services and their respective offerings.

Our strategic land team represents and advises landowners across all aspects of their planning and development journey, whether the land is brought forward for residential, commercial or employment developments. During the past 12 months our staff have been involved in many charity and fundraising initiatives such as walking the entire Cotswold Way, sponsoring and taking part in a 10k fun run, coffee mornings, prizes for school, music festivals and summer fete competitions and raffles, raising money for Christmas Jumper Day and a walk/run/cycle relay between all our current office locations.

The origins of Sheldon Bosley Knight date back to 1843 when William Bull of Shipston-on-Stour began operating as an auctioneer.
At the time the focus was auctions and on-site farm sales including that of livestock although he also worked as a land surveyor and valuer. When his son joined the business, it diversified and expanded to include land management.
Over the 180 years since we have merged and acquired several regional practices and partnerships including Kibler, Morgan and Son in 1975 which led to the renaming of the business as Sheldon Bosley and Company and then the Knight and Rennie estate agency which led to us becoming Sheldon Bosley Knight Ltd.
We have also grown the business to meet our clients’ changing needs and circumstances and we are proud of our excellent reputation in a profession not always known for its integrity.
With 11 specialist departments - residential sales, residential lettings, commercial property, block management, new homes, rural land agency, conveyancing, surveys and valuations, planning and architecture, strategic land and development and auctions - it’s rare we meet someone who we can’t help with their land and property needs.
We have offices across four counties and are proud to be embedded in the local communities we serve.
