INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO

MORPHO

This project was to create a house for one person using Revit and AuoCad. It was to be at least 2,000 square feet. It was based on an object of choice that was turned into an abstraction. A full set of construction documents was required. A model was also to be built with foamcore. I was then able to present it with a poster I designed in our Caine College's museum at the Tippit's Gallery.

SYDNEY

This project objective was to create a chair based on the specific needs of a person. After interviewing them on what would make a perfect chair, the ideas would then develop into sketches. After picking the final sketch, AutoCAD dimensions were drawn. From there, 3D printings were created into model of the chair. The next step was to pick fabrics to create a realistic chair model. Lastly, was to make a magazine cover by Photoshopping it into an image. The booklet was created in InDesign.designed in our Caine College's museum at the Tippit's Gallery.

HAND RENDERINGS

These are all hand renderings of furniture and designs that are famous or that I designed myself. They were created with the mediums of watercolor and markers.

GLASS HOUSE

For this project I was to redesign the interior of Drake/Anderson's, "House in the Woods" for a couple's weekend house in Upstate New York. I handrendered this and used photoshop to add details.

BIG SKY

The Big Sky Ski Resort Project is based on a remodel of the current Big Sky Ski Resort. It was a collaboration with GSBS. The tasks were to create a very high-end restaraunt, a luxury retail shop, and a coffee shop for the resort, all while completing at least 40 points from the Well Design requirements.

MASONRY

For the Masonry Project, I had to learn to create a masonry drawing on AutoCAD by only using dimensions based on the size of the brick unit. I made my drawing based on the Preston High building.

MAGAZINE RENDERING

This rendering was created by the medium watercolor. I took an image from a magazine of the Okuro Hotel and hand-rendered it.

008 PATTERN BOOKLET

For the wallcovering pattern booklet, I was instructed to abstract an object of choice. I took a cactus and turned it into a repeating pattern, with multiple versions, consisting of different colors using Photoshop. It then was made into a pattern booklet on InDesign.

009

RETAIL PROJECT

This project goal was to create an International flagship store for a retail shop of our choice. I decided to do a surf shop in Bali, Indonesia. I created the exterior and interior of the shop using Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop.

010 INTI

This was a group project that was a part of a contest for Idec. The rules were to create a home that refugees would be able to build on their own based on their culture and history. Each group had to choose the place the refugees migrated to and from. I was in charge of creating a road map for the story of the journey. I also took part in coming up with the overall designs and ideas of the project.

PROJECT CONCEPT T

his project was inspired by the body and wings of a butterfly. The cantilever mimics the way the wings spread out from the body of the butterfly. The slant of the roof is an abstraction of when the wings are closed. It is a home designed for a single person living in Heber, Utah.

These are pictures of the butterfly abstractions that I created. This is what it looked like before I developed them into a house.

THE SYDNEY CHAIR

This chair is designed for a specific person's needs. The needs of this client were for the chair to be stylish and comfortable so that the client could do homework in it for long periods of time, and also to make it have ergonomics that would prevent them from getting back pains. It was made to resemble their favorite handbag, a Chanel bag. The plans were drawn in AutoCAD with dimensions. A model was then created with a 3d printer, and then I also created a second model with the materials the chair would be made of if it were to scale. Lastly, I created a magazine cover that my chair would be featured in by photoshopping it into an existing image of an office.

ANDERSON'S HOUSE IN

THE WOODS REMODEL

For the house in the Woods by Drake/Anderson, I was required to redesign the interior of the bedroom for a couple. The couple was using the home as a weekend house. I used watercolors to hand render the bedroom, and I also used Photoshop to add in some details.

MASONRY PROJECT

Ilearned how to draw a masonry building on AutoCAD for this assignment by doing mathmatical calculations, such as making measurements based on the size of the units of brick.

MAGAZINE RENDERING

This is an image taken from a magazine (on the right), and a rendering that I made with watercolors (pictured on the left). It is the Okura Tokyo Hotel's lobby. The photograph was taken by Jimmy Cohrssen. The Wisteria chandelier is 40-feet long, and according to "Interior Design", they change it out and put a new one in weekly.

WALLCOVERING PATTERN BOOKLET

This project objective was to create a wallcovering. The first step was to make an abstraction of an item. I chose a cactus to abstract. The next step was to make a pattern repeat of the abstraction. Lastly, I was to make the pattern booklet, with a variety of colors that the pattern can come in, by using Photoshop. I made the booklet in InDesign.

INTI REFUGEE PROJECT

This group project was to design a home for refugees that they would be able to build themselves based on their culture and types of resources that they would be able to locate from where they came from and moved to. I came up with the overall design concept and ideas, and I also created a journey map and journey story. We chose to make our story based on the Diaz's family of four. They are from Peru and migrated to Chili.

Inti, the Incan sun god, is the source of light and warmth in the world and also protects the Incan people. Inti’s symbol influenced the footprint of the structure. To construct this structure, refugees will use an abundant natural resource, dirt, to form rammed earth walls, along with other found materials. The family will build using the cambio de fuerzas method, using the kit provided. Gabriella will use Peruvian weaving techniques, colors, and patterns to make rugs and
