Administrative Assistant/Marketing Manager, Galactic, Inc.

Jennifer Gilbert brings strong, creative marketing skills and a love for people and building relationships to her role at Galactic, Inc., a professional employer organization dedicated to supporting small-to-mid-size businesses with HR, payroll and compliance solutions. As administrative assistant and marketing manager, Jennifer coordinates internal sales operations, manages client communication and relations and leads outreach campaigns that highlight the company’s value to the local business community.

October “State of the County” Community Luncheon

The annual “State of the County” presentation will be hosted by the Governmental Affairs Work Group on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Doors Open at 11 a.m. for business networking, and the program will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m.

TSCC October “Community Luncheon” features “State of Our Schools Throughout Shelby County”

The Chamber’s October Community Luncheon, which will be hosted by the Chamber’s Career Readiness Work Group, is scheduled to feature presentations from Alabaster City Schools, Hoover City Schools, Pelham City Schools and Shelby County Schools during the annual “State of Our Schools

Throughout Shelby County.”

The community luncheon will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2 in the banquet hall at the Grande Hall at Old Mill Square in Columbiana. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for business networking, which will feature showcase tables, and the program will begin promptly at 11:40 a.m.

Organizations engaged in educational programs and activities are invited to participate in the showcase feature. Contact the Chamber with questions or for more details on availability for a showcase table at 205-663-4542.

The investment is $25 per person for Shelby County Chamber

investors or $35 per person for “future” investors. Admission includes lunch. Reserved corporate tables of six are available for $160.

Chelsea Business Alliance Luncheon

The fourth quarter meeting in 2025 of the Chelsea Business Alliance—an affiliate of The Shelby County Chamber—is scheduled for

Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Chelsea Community Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

The program will feature the an-

nual “State of the City” presentation by Mayor Tony Picklesimer.

The investment for the event, which includes lunch, is $20 per per-

son. To help us prepare properly with the caterer, please be sure to RSVP by noon on Friday, Oct. 3 to Kirk Mancer at kirk@shelbychamber.org.

SHELBY COUNTY LEADERSHIP SKILLS

TRAINING

Jefferson State Community College in partnership with 58 INC & The Shelby County Chamber are offering a series of complementary leadership classes focused on skills that all leaders, supervisors or managers need to be more effective. Training areas include: leadership, communication, teamwork and leading multiple generations. Companies are invited to register personnel for this training course. Spots are limited to the first 25 participants, so make your reservations early. Attendees must be able to attend the class IN PERSON and pass a written exam at the end of the course to receive the AIDT & JSCC Certified Leaders Certificate.
