From the desk of the executive director “Unlike the objective of far too many companies, manufacturing is not about the quick ‘exit.’ It is centered on long-term value creation.” Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder, Chairmen and CEO of Chobani yogurt The State of Wisconsin has declared October as Manufacturing month and we have many right here in our communities to celebrate. Manufacturing month is an opportunity to highlight the value and Deidre Melei investment that manufacturers make in our daily lives. For many generations, manufacturers throughout Sheboygan County have invested and continue to invest in our communities, providing opportunities to lift our communities up and provide much-needed products worldwide. This is also an opportunity to inspire the next generation about the opportunities available and the impact they can make in manufacturing roles. Help us celebrate Manufacturing month and say thank you to someone you know that works in manufacturing!

Molly, Coastal YPN Liaison Happy Spooky Season! As we close out on the month of September, I would like to extend another thank you to John at the Sheboygan Biergarten for hosting such a great event for our network. We had a lot of new faces join and John had some great information about Germany and of course, beer. If only we could have the Biergarten open all year round! For those who missed the chance to head there this summer, it is necessary to go next year. We had another very successful event to wrap up the month with Mayor Ryan Sorenson. He was kind enough to host a mix and mingle for our network at the Black Pig. We were able to talk about many of the plans he has revolving around taxes, plans for road repair as well as plans for the betterment of Sheboygan County and our young professionals. Thank you Mayor for taking the time to sit down, share your ideas, and get feedback from our network. Rolling right into October, I figured it would be fun to show off some throwback pictures to get us all excited for one of the biggest Coastal events of the year. This year we are lucky to be hosting OktoberFeast at the Elks Lodge #299 in Sheboygan. It will be held on October 28th from 5:30-8:00 PM. OktoberFeast is Molly Talaska Coastal’s largest fundraiser for the year and we truly hope you can attend so we can continue to grow our network and come together to make our workforce stronger. (This also happens to be my personal favorite each year. Who doesn’t love tasting food, sampling drinks and mingling with other people who enjoy eating and drinking as much as you do?) Tickets are now available, click here to purchase! Have a safe and happy October, Hope to see you all at OktoberFeast!
