Happy Independence Day!
From The Desk Of The CEO Happy Independence Day, Sheboygan County! “Liberty is the breath of life to nations.” – George Bernard Shaw As we glide into the heart of summer, the energy in Sheboygan County is Deidre Martinez buzzing with celebration, connection, and community. From parades to picnics, concerts to festivals— there's so much happening across our cities and towns. I encourage you to get outside and soak in all the vibrancy and joy that makes this region so special. We are incredibly lucky to live, work, and play in such a thriving community. Here at the Chamber, summer doesn't mean slowing down. Our team has been working hard to set our summer interns and co-op students up for success. These young professionals are spending their summer exploring all that Sheboygan County has to offer while gaining valuable real-world experience through opportunities with our local employers. If you see them out and about, be sure to say hello and help welcome them into our workforce family. We're also gearing up for one of our most impactful events of the year: the Workforce Development Symposium happening Wednesday, August 20th. This half-day event will bring together educators, employers, and community leaders for meaningful, solutions-driven conversations around the evolving needs of our students and workforce. With engaging speakers and innovative ideas, it's a powerful opportunity to deepen partnerships and move our community forward— together. On the lighter side, we're thrilled to report that our annual golf outing is already more than 80% sold out! With only a handful of sponsorships and golfer slots remaining, now's the time to get in touch with Anna if you're planning to join us. It's always one of the most fun and relaxed ways to connect with peers, clients, and friends in the community We are also proud to share some exciting news— our recent

Tools, books, and Chamber Membership often can become similar. How so? Each, if not used on a regular basis, can become something like a paperweight. I bet there is at least one tool or book that you purchased with the best intention John Rogers of using it, but inertia is often hard to overcome so the tool sits on your workbench, or the book sits on your coffee table and holds down the magazines you will read someday. In recent weeks and months, I've had more than a few very useful conversations with the Chamber's Director of Membership Development, Anna Toman, about how to use an important tool— Chamber Master. When you participate in one of Anna's 'Maximize Your Membership' meetings, you will learn how to use Chamber Master to expand your visibility with other Chamber members, and beyond. For example, did you know you can research Press Releases about your peer members? At a recent event, a new Chamber member reinforced the value of 'Maximize Your Membership' when he told me he now knew about many of the Chamber's good-for-you programs and events, such as the vibe@5 events, Deep Dive, and more (such as roundtables).

Always pay attention Monday morning to The Buzz to learn more about Chamber events on the horizon. You do not want to miss an exciting, useful event such as a roundtable, or the next Maximize Your Membership session (hint: it's on Wednesday, August 13th!) Of course, you can send an email to either Anna or me if you have questions! Anna@Sheboygan.org or John@ Sheboygan.org

Annual Chamber Golf Outing - August 27th Join us on the green for one of the Chambers most popular networking events of the year. With more than 200 professionals in attendance, this laid-back day of play offers serious visibility, plus fun sponsorship perks that go way beyond a logo on a sign. Leah Bischoff - Transition Concierge Specialist This month, I've been reflecting on how progress doesn't always arrive in the spotlight. More often, it takes the shape of a quiet conversation, a shared resource, or a new connection made at just the right moment. Through our Make Your Mark efforts, we've had the privilege of supporting individuals as they navigate career transitions and new beginnings. Whether it's a newcomer building roots or a longLeah Bischoff time resident reimagining what's next, these joruneys are deeply personal and full of possibility. I've carefully listened to job seekers across the country, learned what's shifting in their workplaces, and helped uncover the talent already here, ready to grow. And as I've traveled representing Sheboygan County, I've realized something carried out in each conversation: job seekers are looking for more than work - they're looking for community. Again and Again, I hear: "What's it like to live there?" or "Will I fit in?" These aren't small questions. Because while experience gets you in the door, belonging makes you stay. That's what makes Sheboygan County different. Our greatest asset isn't just an opportunity; it's the way we lead with hearts & progress. So lets' keep going.
Let's keep growing.
And let's keep making space for everyone at the table.

Liz Miyashiro - Director of Finance & Operations Now is the perfect time to shop local. With summer in full swing, Sheboygan County’s seasonal businesses are open and buzzing— from ice cream shops and outdoor dining spots to garden centers and lakeside boutiques. Chamber Cash is a simple but powerful way to support these local businesses and keep your dollars circulating right here in our community. Chamber Cash works like a gift certificate and is accepted by dozens Liz Miyashiro of local merchants—restaurants, retail shops, service providers, and more. Whether you’re picking up a unique gift, enjoying a night out, or treating yourself to a summer experience, there’s a Chamber member business ready to welcome you. What makes Chamber Cash even more impactful is how widely it’s used beyond individual purchases. Many of our area’s larger employers buy Chamber Cash in bulk to reward employees, thank clients, or include in company giveaways. It's a win-win: recipients get flexibility and choice, while local businesses get a boost in traffic and revenue.
8.
You can purchase Chamber Cash at either Tietz’s Piggly Wiggly locations in Sheboygan and Plymouth, or stop by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce office. So this summer, whether you’re planning a picnic, a shopping day, or just want to show appreciation—reach for Chamber Cash and keep it local.
