The year seems to be flying by rather quickly. We have experienced significant change at the Chamber thus far this year, with expansion of services, strengthened community relationships, building updates and new staff members. We are thrilled at the progress we have already made this year and excited for what is yet to come in 2024. We know that change is hard, but change is inevitable and makes us stronger, so we welcome it with open arms and adjust as needed.

In late March, we launched the first round of marketing and advertising outside of our area to attract workforce to Sheboygan County through the “Make Your Mark” campaign, in partnership with Sheboygan County. Have you “opted in”? It is vital that all employers, large or small, that want access to applicants through this campaign “opt in” to ensure resumes will be sent your way. We expect this program to attract new neighbors to Sheboygan County, fill much needed jobs in our area, and to enhance our economic growth opportunities.

We are also busy preparing for several opportunities to engage young professionals. Led by Kierra Brooks, the Best Under 40 Awards are quickly approaching on Thursday May 2nd and we hope you will join us. You do not need to be a young professional to come out and celebrate young professionals. This is a beautiful evening of celebration and a great opportunity to learn about these community leaders and the many ways they are giving back in our community. May is also the start of Young Professionals

Leah BischoffTransition Concierge Specialist

Greetings! I wanted to express my gratitude for the warm welcome and support I received during my first month here. Your enthusiasm has truly made this transition smooth and delightful.

Our “Make Your Mark” Workforce Campaign has officially launched! This innovative initiative is designed to attract new community members while enhancing the connection between job seekers and employers, making the hiring process more efficient and rewarding for everyone involved.

“Make Your Mark” is tailored to address our community’s hiring needs by providing recruiters access to individuals from surrounding counties and states seeking a new place to call home. Through our platform, recruiters can opt-in and gain access to a pool of candidates that meet their specific requirements.

A key feature of this campaign is the “first dibs” advantage for recruiters. By checking the platform daily, recruiters can ensure they are among the first to discover and engage with potential candidates, giving them a competitive edge in securing talent for their organizations.

Additionally, entry-level workers may benefit from added advantages such as relocation assistance, including reimbursement for eligible candidates and temporary housing based on availability and necessity. This support helps alleviate financial strain as they transition into their new roles, providing essential assistance as they await their first paycheck.

Please opt-in through this link or contact Leah@sheboygan.org to get involved!

Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to working with you to continue making Sheboygan County an even better place to live, work, and thrive.

Josh Aschenbach - Director Of Membership & Workforce Development

By the time this article is published, I will have moved on from my position at the Sheboygan County Chamber. Starting in April, I will serve as the Marketing Communications Manager at 3 Sheeps Brewing Company. I’m incredibly proud to join the 3 Sheeps team not only because their products are second to none, but because their team is a proud Sheboygan company that is committed to improving and investing in the city we call home. Additionally, with 3 Sheeps being a long-time Chamber Member, I look forward to continuing to invest my time and energy in the mission and vision of the Sheboygan County Chamber, just from the membership side, instead of the staff side. But, before I go, I want to say thank you.

Thank you to Deidre, the board, and my fellow Chamber staff members for all the support and opportunities for growth that I’ve been given this past year. Through ups and downs, fun nights and long nights, it’s been a pleasure to be part of an organization that plays such a huge role in our community’s continued growth and development.

I also want to give a special thank you to the Business Education Partnership (BEP) committee. This group has some of the most brilliant and dedicated minds I’ve ever worked with in it. Your tireless effort in providing life-changing resources to the students of Sheboygan County is truly inspiring. The impact that this committee has on our community cannot be overstated, having interacted with well over 3,000 students this year alone. I always looked forward to the exciting ideas that came out of our meetings.

Thank you to the Deep Dive groups and facilitators for showing me the unmatched value of genuine relationships. The greatest social network in the world is the one that happens in person—you are proof of that.

Finally, thank you to all of YOU, our Chamber Members. I was proud to see our Membership grow from 720 to 780 in my time here—not because of anything I did, but because you all chose to believe in the mission of the Chamber and what we can accomplish together. I truly believe that Sheboygan County is one of the most unique and beautiful communities in the world. Sure, we have pristine beaches, nationally recognized attractions, and unrivaled industry, but we have something even better that no other place else will ever replicate: YOU. It is the people of Sheboygan County that makes this place what it is. And nothing can ever compete with that.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
