LOSTANT — Lostant is looking at ways to improve its infrastructure, especially in how it might choose projects for which it can acquire grants. With Kevin Lindeman of the North Central Illinois Council of Governments in attendance, Village President Jack Immel asked as to how the village should go about “looking into our aging infrastructure.” One aspect the village has to look into is the water system. “I don’t know if we should replace the water tower or

SV Police investigate shooting By Goldie Rapp

SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley man who was treated for a gunshot wound at St. Margaret’s Hospital over the weekend has remained uncooperative with police and refuses to reveal any information related to the shooting. As previously reported, Spring Valley Police were called to St. Margaret’s Hospital at 1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. The man refused to reveal any details about the shooting including the location of the incident, identity of the offender or any of the circumstances about the incident. Sangston said the man was brought to the hospital by relatives. They were all interviewed by police, however, they claimed they didn’t know what happened. BUREAU — Bureau County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a missing persons case on a 14-yearold Bureau girl. Anna Racine is believed to have left her home and was picked-up on Monday, Aug. 14, between
